On November 17, 2023, the all-new Cadillac pure electric SUV OPTIQ made its official debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The new car will be positioned as a mid-sized pure electric SUV and will be developed and built based on the General Motors Ultium platform. It is a vehicle with a sporty style and fashionable design. The new car will be equipped with dual motors and a four-wheel drive system, bringing better power performance to the vehicle.
In terms of appearance, the Cadillac OPTIQ adopts a completely new family design language. Although it uses a closed intake grille design, it still retains Cadillac’s iconic shield structure, but adds some stylish elements to give it a more trendy and youthful look.
The shape of the headlights also has a strong family resemblance. The L-shaped layout not only makes the front face look fuller, but the sharp corners also enhance the vehicle’s sporty attributes. The front bumper features many sharp and angular designs, giving this car a bold American style.
The side lines reflect agility and elegance, and the seemingly ordinary waistline outlines the muscular profile of this car. The dimensions of the new car are 4822x1912x1642mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2954mm. It is positioned as a medium-sized pure electric SUV.
The rear design of the car is also filled with a familial taste, especially the tail lights on both sides. The vertical strip design allows people to recognize it as a Cadillac model at a glance. In addition, to showcase the sportiness of this car, a ducktail-like spoiler is designed below the rear window, which is indeed innovative. At this press conference, in addition to the official debut of the Cadillac OPTIQ, the Cadillac IQ Rui Ge also welcomed its official launch. The price range of the new car is 297,700 to 317,700 yuan (44660$). Compared to the currently available models, the new IQ Rui Ge still maintains the body size of a mid-size SUV and has made changes and upgrades in appearance and some configurations.
The overall design of the front end remains consistent with the current models on sale, featuring a closed, frameless grille that exudes a futuristic and technological feel. The L-shaped headlights also showcase Cadillac’s signature family design style, resulting in a highly recognizable overall appearance.
On the side, it continues to maintain the sleek design, and the C-pillar and rear window also retain the design of the existing model, which is very distinctive. The new car will be equipped with pop-up hidden door handles, which makes opening and closing the doors more elegant and convenient.
The design of the rear end has hardly changed, still retaining the design style of the current model. The L-shaped light strip on the rear window extends to the rear of the car, and the ventilation openings on both sides of the bumper are designed as vertical tail lights. When lit, the overall recognizability is very high.
In terms of the interior, the new car will continue to use the existing design, retaining the 33.8-inch curved integrated screen. Below the central control, physical buttons and a slim display screen are also used, and the combination of the two forms the Cadillac’s shield logo.
The standard version of the CLTC model has a range of 502km and a low energy consumption of only 14.4kWh/100km. It is also equipped with a four-wheel drive system and has a zero to hundred acceleration time of just 5.9 seconds. Additionally, this car features an intelligent driving assistance system with hands-off capability, showcasing high safety and advanced features.
