On November 17, 2023, the Guangzhou Auto Show opened. At this year’s auto show, BYD Ocean Network unveiled a new model – the Sea Lion 07 EV, making its global debut. The new car is the first mid-size pure electric SUV from Ocean Network, and also the first model of the new Sea Lion IP from Ocean Network. The new car is built on the e-platform 3.0 and features a new Ocean X front face design, giving it a more youthful overall style.
The BYD Sea Lion 07 EV is designed by a team led by Wolfgang Egger, the global design director of BYD. In terms of appearance, the new car presents a new generation of styling design concepts based on marine aesthetic design. In the front part, the new car continues the design of the Ocean X concept car, with a very sharp and aggressive front end, giving a feeling of power without anger. The daytime running lights also adopt the iconic C-shaped design of the marine network car logo, with strong recognition.
In addition, the front end also features a three-section air intake design, with an exaggerated style that, combined with the raised lines on the engine hood, greatly enhances the overall sportiness and power of the vehicle.
Looking at the side of the car, the Haishi 07 EV adopts a sleek roof design, combined with the upward double waistline, creating a forward-leaning feeling and a strong sense of sportiness. In terms of details, the front and rear wheel arches are also painted in black, combined with 20-inch large wheels, giving the side a strong visual impact. In terms of body size, its length, width, and height are 4830/1925/1620mm, with a wheelbase of 2930mm.
In terms of the rear end design, the overall lines converge towards the center, with multiple horizontal lines seamlessly integrated with the side waistline, creating a strong visual impact. This not only increases the visual width, but also enhances the overall sense of power of the vehicle.
In terms of details, the new car is also equipped with the iconic Ocean Network family’s signature through-style taillights, with extremely high recognition. In addition, the exaggerated bumper design, combined with the large-size rear wing on the roof, creates a good sporty atmosphere for the rear of the car. In terms of power, the new car is built on the e-platform 0 and is equipped with the pioneering CTB battery body integration technology and iTAC intelligent torque control technology, as well as front double wishbone, rear five-link independent suspension, and the Yun Che C intelligent damping body control system.
