On November 17th, the MAZDA CX-50 HEV was officially launched, with a price range of 195,800 to 239,800 yuan (33560$), and related car purchase rights were announced. The new car will be equipped with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, as well as an electric motor and battery pack to form the power unit of the vehicle. In addition, the model will also be the first to be equipped with an e-AWD electronic four-wheel drive system, which is also one of the biggest highlights of the model.
In terms of appearance, the MAZDA CX-50 HEV and the regular fuel version maintain a consistent family design style, with some improvements in details, such as the use of a smoked black intake grille. The headlight assembly adopts a concave design, giving it a more mysterious and divine look.
In terms of body size, the MAZDA CX-50 HEV measures 4785x1920x1670mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2815mm. The new car features large matte black decorative strips on the side, giving it a sporty and stylish look. In terms of wheels, the model will offer consumers a choice between 17-inch and 19-inch wheels.
The design of the rear end also retains the classic styling of the existing model, especially the tail light group, which not only echoes the front of the car, but also has a very high overall recognition. In order to reflect the sporty nature of this car, the rear bumper not only has side air vents, but the silver protective plate underneath also has a contrasting color effect, and is also equipped with dual exhausts on both sides.
In terms of interior design, the existing model’s style has been retained, and the combination of mechanical instrument panel with central LCD display will continue to be used. However, it is worth noting that the materials used in the interior of the car are very sophisticated, and in order to cater to the habits of Chinese consumers, the MAZDA CX-50 HEV will also realize functions such as mobile phone interconnection and OTA upgrade.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, paired with an electric motor and battery pack to form a hybrid power system. In addition to the power system upgrade, the new car will also be the first to be equipped with the e-AWD electronic four-wheel drive system, bringing more driving pleasure and driving modes to the vehicle. At the Guangzhou Auto Show, in addition to the official launch of the MAZDA CX-50 HEV, Changan Mazda also brought the MAZDA CX-50, 2023 MAZDA 3 Axela, 2024 MAZDA CX-5, as well as the MAZDA CX-30 and MAZDA MX-5 models, making for a strong lineup.
