According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, Tesla Motors Limited has filed a recall plan with the National Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recalls” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recalls”. Starting from today, a total of 2 imported Model X electric vehicles produced between July 7, 2023 and August 1, 2023 will be recalled. The vehicles within the scope of this recall have undergone steering wheel type modifications at Tesla service centers. The new steering wheel installed after the modification still has the original type of steering wheel airbag, which does not match the new steering wheel. In the event of a collision, the protective performance of the airbag may be affected, increasing the risk of injury to the driver and posing a safety hazard. Tesla Motors Limited will inspect the vehicles within the recall scope. If the airbag type does not match the steering wheel type, it will be replaced free of charge with the correct type of airbag to eliminate the safety hazard.
