The 2023 Guangzhou International Auto Show is considered a barometer for the new year’s car market in China, and electric vehicles have become the main focus. Among them, as a mainstream joint venture brand, Dongfeng Honda has presented its “electric answer sheet.” At this auto show, the Dongfeng Honda e:NS brand’s second product, the e:NS2, made its debut and is expected to be released in 2024. Gou Tiansheng, Vice General Manager of Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., introduced the e:NS2, stating that it inherits Honda’s reliable quality and consistent driving excitement, adopting a unique “hunting light aesthetics” design and featuring a “hunting enjoyment cockpit.” He stated at the press conference that while most of the market is using technological gimmicks to attract attention, Dongfeng Honda is still firmly committed to the essence of car manufacturing. “The electric cars we create must not only be full of energy, but also carry the pure electric driving pleasure.”
According to the introduction, the e:NS2 combines the comfort of a sedan with the multifunctional advantages of an SUV. The vehicle’s front grille features a layered design, and the sharp and straight body lines extend from the front to the rear, highlighting a sense of sportiness and power. As a pure electric hunting coupe, the e:NS2 adopts a hatchback-style tailgate design. The piercing hunting wing headlights and taillights, centered around the glowing “H” badge, create a striking appearance for the vehicle. Notably, Dongfeng Honda’s strong electric hybrid series and R-V family models made their debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show, with new energy products accounting for more than half of the exhibition vehicles, demonstrating Dongfeng Honda’s firm commitment to electrification.
The head of Dongfeng Honda stated that based on the brand’s new value proposition of “Stay Ahead – technology, intelligence, passion,” Dongfeng Honda has established a mainstream new energy technology route, including EV, HEV, and PHEV, covering all categories of electric products, including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs. In July of this year, Dongfeng Honda announced a new strategy codenamed “Creating the Future 2030”: by 2030, Dongfeng Honda will launch more than 10 pure electric models, with the Lingxi L, “e:N SUV Sequence,” and e:NS2 new energy vehicles scheduled to be released in 2024. As Gou Tiansheng said, standing at the 20th anniversary of its establishment, Dongfeng Honda will adhere to the transformation of electrification driven by digitization, promote the “breaking old and establishing new” in all areas such as shaping the electrification image, constructing a new energy matrix, and innovating consumer experience, and strive to continue the glory of the fuel era to the era of intelligent electric vehicles.
