According to the requirements of the “Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products”, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Investment Co., Ltd. have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Investment Co., Ltd. will recall the following vehicles from now on:
- Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will recall some Highlander vehicles produced between October 13, 2018 and March 31, 2021, totaling 186,837 vehicles.
- Toyota Motor Investment Co., Ltd. will recall some imported RX vehicles produced between November 30, 2018 and March 1, 2021, totaling 88,545 vehicles.
The vehicles within the scope of this recall have an imperfect fuel injection quantity correction control program in the engine electronic control unit, which may result in the actual fuel injection quantity being lower than expected. This can cause unstable engine speed during cold starts, and in extreme cases, the engine may unexpectedly stall during low-speed driving, increasing the risk of rear-end collisions and posing a safety hazard.
Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the engine ECU control program for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. All users who meet the conditions should go to check as soon as possible.
