Ford F-150 Lightning sets new sales record in the US in November According to reports, Ford CEO Jim Farley announced that the company’s F-150 Lightning electric pickup set a new sales record in the US in November. The sales of F-150 Lightning in that month approached 4,400 units, an increase of over 100% compared to the previous year. In contrast, in the third quarter of this year, the sales of F-150 Lightning decreased by 46% year-on-year. Ford announced in September that after a 6-week production halt, the production of F-150 Lightning has resumed. After the transformation of the Rouge Electric Vehicle Factory in Michigan, the production of its electric pickup is expected to double. In October of this year, the sales of F-150 Lightning increased by 52.4% year-on-year, to 3,712 units. Despite Ford’s reduced investment in electric vehicles, the sales of this model reached a new high in November.

According to the new plan, Ford will reduce investment by nearly $1.5 billion, and the expected number of jobs at the factory will be reduced to 1,700. In February of this year, Ford announced plans for the factory, expecting to add 2,500 jobs and produce 35 GWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries annually starting in 2026, providing power for approximately 400,000 electric vehicles. Now, Ford has lowered production expectations by 40% to 20 GWh, with LFP batteries produced annually to power around 230,000 electric vehicles. Ford has also delayed its goal of producing 600,000 electric vehicles until next summer and has reduced shifts at the Rouge electric vehicle factory from three to two, where the F-150 Lightning is produced.
