In November, the market share of electric cars in Norway reached 90.6%. According to statistics released by the Norwegian Road Information Management Bureau, the country’s new car sales have seen a significant decline this year, with a 47% drop in November compared to the same month in 2022. The total number of new car registrations in November was 10,348, with 8,442 being pure electric cars and 938 being plug-in hybrid cars. This means that electric cars accounted for 90.6% of the market share in Norway last month. Compared to September and October, the market share of electric cars in Norway has continued to increase.
Source: Tesla In November, Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car in Norway with 1,496 registrations. Skoda Enyaq and Toyota bZ4X followed with 565 and 564 registrations, respectively. Hyundai Kona ranked fourth with 466 registrations, and Toyota RAV4 ranked fifth with 447 registrations. It is worth noting that only 59 gasoline-powered cars were registered in November. By the end of November, the sales of gasoline-powered cars in Norway for 2023 were 1,310, with a cumulative market share of only 1.1%. Over the past 23 years, the number of gasoline-powered cars in the country has decreased by 1 million. Gasoline and diesel-powered cars are gradually disappearing, which is an obvious trend, although most people may not have realized it yet.
