On December 22, 2023, Changan Automobile’s global first extended-range pickup, the Changan Hunter, officially started pre-sale. The new car adopts a brand-new front face design, with a more futuristic appearance. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a plug-in extended-range hybrid power, and provides two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models to choose from. According to the configuration, the new car has 3 versions and a total of 8 models, with a pre-sale price range of 13.99-21.69 million yuan.
In terms of appearance, the Changan Hunter adopts a new design language. The front grille adopts a borderless digital grid design similar to the UNI series, and the headlights are integrated. The headlight design is more delicate and uses LED light sources. The bumper below is very tough, especially the strong and muscular shapes on both sides.
When looking at the side of the car, the new car still uses the classic styling of the pickup truck model. Depending on the configuration, the fenders have the same color as the body or a different black style. At the same time, the new car is also equipped with large side steps for easy access. In terms of body size, the Changan Hunter will offer a standard box and an optional short box. The dimensions of the standard box version are 5380*1980*1875mm, with a wheelbase of 3180mm, and a cargo box size of 1600*1595*520mm.
The rear of the car features a dual-color bumper design, complemented by the CHANGAN English logo, adding a touch of sophistication. In terms of details, the CHANGAN Hunter wheels use 6.5 low-rolling resistance tires and six-spoke black and silver symmetrical wheel hub design, reflecting a sense of power.
The tailgate is divided into two sections, which open to reveal steps for easy access to the cargo area. It also has an external power supply, making it very practical.
In terms of interior, Changan Hunter adopts a design concept that leans towards passenger cars, with a large area of soft leather materials and brushed panel texture, the dual-color interior also brings a decent sense of luxury. The interior adopts a wrap-around design, and the design of through-type air vents and large-size dual screens also give a feeling of a passenger car.
In terms of intelligence, Changan Hunter will be equipped with Changan’s latest generation of car systems, deeply customized for pickup truck exclusive smart features, with functions such as cruise control, Bluetooth phone, voice control, and also providing pickup truck weather, pickup truck karaoke, pickup truck map and other exclusive functions.
In the power system, Changan Hunter is equipped with a plug-in range extender, with a range extender of 2.0T displacement and a net power of 140kW. The two-wheel drive model is equipped with a 130kW rear motor, while the four-wheel drive model is equipped with dual motors, with a maximum power of 200kW, a maximum torque of 470Nm, and 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds. In terms of range, the new car’s pure electric range is 180km, and the maximum range with full fuel and electricity is 1031km. The suspension system adopts a front double wishbone and rear five-link integral bridge suspension structure.
