On December 26, 2023, the AITO Wanjie M9 was officially launched, with a price range of 469,800 to 569,800 yuan (79760$). The new car will be delivered in bulk on February 26, 2024. As AITO’s first large flagship SUV, the Wanjie M9 is based on a newly developed D-class luxury SUV platform, with a new family design, versatile space comparable to MPV level, a full aluminum alloy chassis comparable to million-dollar luxury cars, and Huawei’s intelligent car full-stack technology solution including intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, Huawei million-pixel smart headlights, Huawei ARHUD, Huawei AI big model, bringing a new intelligent experience in all scenarios.
The M9 continues the brand’s consistent aesthetic principles of “ultimate, simplicity, purity” and introduces a new family design language, opening the era of intelligent aesthetic design for the M9 series with the concept of aesthetic integration of humanities and technology.
The design concept of the M9 is called “Kunpeng Zhi”, which follows Huawei’s ultimate and minimalist principles. The exterior design of the new car is called “You Kun”. The front face design is inspired by the Kunpeng’s outstretched wings, which is also the latest design language of Wanjie.
The design of the headlights is distinctive, including ADB and AFS modules for high and low beam, as well as smart interactive lights below. The headlights have customizable patterns and can display the remaining battery charge and provide charging reminders.
Additionally, the 2.6 million pixel projection headlight can avoid illuminating vehicles in the same direction and opposite direction when the high beam is on, and it also has the ability to project movies onto a screen in front of the vehicle.
The M9 has a length of 5230mm, a width of 1999mm, a height of 1800mm, and a wheelbase of 3110mm, which gives it an absolute advantage in the D-class luxury SUV segment. The vehicle features a dual-tone body design commonly seen in top-end luxury cars, with a blue body and silver roof, exuding both majestic stability and elegant grace.
The M9 rear design is full and atmospheric. The taillights can also display gratitude through light language. This is a friendly reminder to express gratitude to the car behind in emergency situations, making the journey more warm. In addition, the taillights can also dance to music during camping.
In terms of interior design, the WENJIE M9 features three large screens and is equipped with HUAWEI AR-HUD. The WENJIE M9 is the first to be equipped with HUAWEI AR-HUD, with a 75-inch display that provides AR navigation and a deep integration of real scenes and intelligent driving. This visualizes the perception and decision-making process of HUAWEI ADS.
In addition, the M9 can be equipped with 10 screens, including: 3 in the front row (driver, center console, and passenger), all unified as One Glass panoramic screens; 4 in the second and third rows, and can connect 4 MatePads through HUAWEI MaglinkĀ® interface; 1 projection screen; 1 outside the car, HUAWEI XPIXEL smart projection headlights with a million pixels, can project finer dynamic images; 1 on the front windshield, HUAWEI ARHUD. With 10 screens, it can meet the full range of driving, entertainment, and work needs at any time.
The laser projector above the third row and the large projection screen above the second row seats can provide a cinema-like viewing experience. Paired with the new HUAWEI SOUND 2.0 audio system, it is believed to provide a great audiovisual experience for rear passengers. More importantly, it is car-grade, with extensive optimizations for anti-vibration, heat dissipation, radiation resistance, and noise, allowing for a worry-free experience watching movies on the big screen inside the car.
With advanced structural design, the Wanjie M9 achieves the same level floor riding experience as an MPV, making it easier for passengers to enter the second and third rows and providing a more comfortable long-distance travel experience. Based on the concept of equal rights for six seats, the Wanjie M9 also provides a versatile and luxurious experience beyond the level of an MPV through innovative space layout, ensuring that every passenger has an equally comfortable first-class experience. All six seats in the car support electric adjustment and can be switched between 3, 4, 5, and 6 seat modes to enhance the flexibility of the car’s interior space in different scenarios.
In terms of safety, the WENJIE M9 uses the “Xuanwu body”, which is the world’s largest integrated die-cast body, with the entire vehicle’s aluminum alloy volume accounting for as high as 80%, and the lightweight coefficient as low as 2.02; the entire vehicle uses 2000MPa nuclear submarine-grade hot car-type steel in 12 locations. The vehicle comes standard with 9 airbags and 16 safety points, as well as pre-tensioned seat belts, and all four doors are equipped with mechanical handles to improve escape efficiency in case of danger; the door threshold beam has up to 11 protective cavities to better absorb side impact energy. Its battery also adopts a five-layer safety wrapping design, with industry-leading full high-voltage heat uncontrolled non-spreading technology, and has ten layers of thermal safety protection support, which can achieve real-time protection, active warning, active cooling, millisecond power off, and avoid battery heat uncontrolled in extreme situations.
The Wey M9 will have the Huawei T-Box intelligent chassis, featuring an all-aluminum front double wishbone + rear multi-link suspension system, standard intelligent closed air springs and CDC adjustable damping shock absorbers, and will be equipped with a rear wheel steering system.
The Wey M9 is equipped with Huawei ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving assistance system. This system does not rely on high-precision maps and can be used nationwide. Starting from the end of December, it will also have the city NCA navigation intelligent driving function. In addition, through machine learning, the system will improve as it is used.
The M9 in the TSN system has two energy modes, pure electric and extended range, and supports 800V fast charging. The extended range model is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a power of 112kW, using dual motors with a front motor power of 165kW and a rear motor power of 200kW. The vehicle’s energy consumption is as low as 6.9L/100km, with an electric consumption of 24.3KWh/100km. The pure electric model is a four-wheel drive model, with a front motor power of 160kW and a rear motor power of 230kW, with an electric consumption of 17.4KWh/100km per 100km. Summary
