On December 25th that several car bloggers released spy photos of the road test of the new Leopard 8 today, and the new car looks even bigger than the U8.
The Leopard 8 had officially appeared at the Chengdu Auto Show and is expected to be launched in 2024. The new car is built on the BYD Super Hybrid Off-road Platform DM-o, with a non-load-bearing body and equipped with the Yunnei-P intelligent hydraulic body control system.
From spy photos, it can be seen that the car will likely be equipped with air suspension, the rear part of the car also adopts an externally mounted spare tire and a side-opening tailgate, and is equipped with oversized tires.
The new Equation Leopard 8 still features the family design style and may be positioned as a large hardcore SUV.
Considering the new car is equipped with the DM-o super hybrid system, its 2.0T engine can reach a maximum power of 180kW, the system’s maximum power exceeds 500kW, the maximum torque reaches 760N·m, and the zero to one hundred acceleration is expected to be achieved in 4 seconds. At the same time, the new car may support 6kw AC car-to-car charging.
Furthermore, this model is equipped with the Yunnei-P intelligent body control system, which supports a suspension adjustment travel of 200mm, a maximum wading depth of 1000mm, and the classic “leopard-style turn”.
