On December 29th, SAIC-GM Cadillac announced the launch of the new CT5, with a price range of 289,700-341,700 yuan (48270$). The new car has made adjustments to the exterior and interior details, and comes standard with a luxury yacht smart cabin and L2-level intelligent driving assistance system, as well as a new AKG recording studio-level sound system with 16 high-performance speakers and 126-color designer-selected ambient lighting. The new CT5 comes in four models: Luxury, Luxury Pro, Premium, and Platinum, with various color options for both the exterior and interior. Customers who purchase a Cadillac brand vehicle can enjoy a subsidy of 10,000 yuan (1410$), and those who trade in a Cadillac/Buick/Chevrolet brand vehicle can receive a subsidy of 10,000 yuan (1410$), while those who trade in vehicles from other brands can receive a subsidy of 5,000 yuan (710$). In addition, customers can also enjoy insurance benefits, referral benefits, and exclusive gifts for the first batch of car owners.
In terms of appearance, the new Cadillac CT5 maintains the same styling as the overseas version, with the front end still featuring the iconic shield-shaped grille of the Cadillac family. The biggest change in the front end is the adjustment of the headlights, which now feature a new quantum matrix front lighting system, and the overall design of the vertical star matrix headlights is more similar to the new CT6. At the same time, the new car still offers a luxurious appearance and a V-sport package appearance, providing options for different consumers.
The side and rear of the car continue the design of the current model, with a sloping roof, dual exhausts, and a duckbill spoiler on the trunk, providing a strong sporty atmosphere. In addition, the new model also offers a new wheel design.
Compared to the exterior, the improvement of the interior is more obvious. The new CT5 adopts a completely new family interior design, equipped with a 33-inch 9K panoramic curved screen, using car-grade glass-based Mini-LED partition backlight technology, presenting ultra-clear true colors. With a display accuracy of 271 PPI, a color depth of up to 10 bits, and the ability to display as many as 1 billion colors, it challenges the ultimate delicate effect. Equipped with a car-grade Qualcomm 8155 chip, it brings a faster in-car experience. The new CT5 supports a full-scene interconnected ecosystem, integrating a variety of APP applications, and has a sensitive intelligent voice assistant that can achieve a massive voice function, making intelligence more versatile.
In terms of configuration, the new CT5 also adds a 16-speaker AKG studio-grade sound system and 126-color designer-selected ambient lights, along with Moli leather seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, providing a better cabin atmosphere. In terms of safety configuration, the new CT5 also comes standard with an L2 level driving assistance system, and upgrades to FSR ACC full-speed range adaptive cruise control, and HoLCA intelligent lane centering assist function, which can automatically keep the vehicle centered and cruising in the lane. In addition, the new CT5 is upgraded with a 360° full-mode intelligent automatic parking system.
In terms of power, the new CT5 is still equipped with a 2.0T+10AT powertrain, with a maximum engine power of 237 horsepower and peak torque of 350 Nm. In terms of hardware, the top model is also equipped with MRC magnetic suspension, mLSD mechanical limited slip differential, Brembo high-performance braking system, and PS4S Michelin high-performance tires, providing better dynamic performance.
