On January 5, 2024, the 6th Haikou International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition officially opened. At the exhibition, the Avita 12 models made their debut at the Avita Technology booth. The new car had been launched before, with a total of 1 rear-wheel drive version and 2 four-wheel drive versions, priced between 300,800 and 400,800 yuan (56340$).
The Avita 12 is created by the Avita Global Design Center in Munich, Germany, with the overall design concept of “Future Elegance”. Its overall design style is in line with the Avita 11, with high design continuity. The new car is positioned as a large luxury sports sedan, with a very dynamic and powerful sloping roofline, embodying the traditional luxury GT sports car style, with high visual recognition.
The front of the car has a thick and centrally sunken hood, showing a strong sense of “running”, a closed middle grille and a large hexagonal lower grille that makes the entire front look very dynamic, and also comes with an active open and close grille.
The all-new headlight design of the Avita 11 is more sleek and simple, with its iconic split-type headlights making it easily recognizable as an Avita brand car. The daytime running lights feature short and sharp light eyebrows, and the oversized C-shaped daytime running lights outline the entire front end of the car, complementing the other lines of the front end and adding depth to the originally simple front end. The high and low beam split-type headlights are embedded, giving it a strong futuristic feel.
The Avita 12 is equipped with a large front windshield measuring 1.56m x 1.2m, with adaptive light-sensing function. It not only has excellent lighting area, but also effectively reduces energy transmission and resists ultraviolet rays. The lower part of the front windshield is equipped with a HALO screen, which is composed of 10,500 beads and can interact with people and vehicles outside the car, enhancing the appearance and offering rich interactive modes.
The design of the Avita 12 makes it look more like a large sedan, with a forward-leaning profile and muscular body. The dimensions of the Avita 12 are 5020*1999*1460mm, with a wheelbase of 3020mm.
At the rear of the car, the Avita 12 has a sleek roof that gives the new car a very compact visual effect, appearing round and concise, in line with the current popular style of new energy vehicles. It does not use a through-type taillight, and the width light strips on both sides are extremely slim. The most distinctive area of the rear is undoubtedly the rear window, which abandons the traditional rear window design and instead adopts a fully enclosed rear end design, complemented by an automatic lifting tail wing, making the overall level of the rear end higher and the sense of technology stronger.
Due to the enclosed rear window, the Avita 12 series all use a streaming media rearview mirror. It is worth mentioning that, with the presence of electronic side mirrors, the Avita 12 has become the only model currently on the market that uses streaming media rearview mirrors throughout the entire vehicle.
In terms of interior design, the Avita 12 adopts a completely new style, different from the “emotional vortex” of the Avita 11. The official description of the Avita 12’s cabin is “Cloud Realm Surrounding Sensing Cabin”. The entire cabin has undergone a significant simplification of design, with the number of physical buttons greatly reduced, except for some necessary practical buttons. The interior materials of the cabin are quite luxurious, paired with 64 ambient light colors to create a remarkable texture, and the ambient lights also have a flowing design and welcoming dynamic effects.
At the top of the center console is a 35.4-inch 4K narrow screen that spans the entire IP console. It serves as the digital information center for the vehicle, integrating LCD instrument panel and adjustable display for trip information, vehicle information, multimedia, etc. The small screens on both sides are the display screens for the external electronic rearview mirrors, equipped with HDR mode.
The center console is equipped with a 15.6-inch suspended central control screen, and the car system loaded in it is Huawei HarmonyOS 4.0. Its intelligent experience is basically the same as that of the Avita 11 Hongmeng version, and the interface also adopts a card-based design, with a personalized quick access bar at the bottom of the desktop. In addition, it is also equipped with advanced functions such as the circulation of interconnected applications with Hongmeng phones and car-home interconnection.
Below the large screen are a set of physical levers, four of which are window control buttons, and the other two buttons control 360 panoramic images and automatic parking. The wireless charging island in the center console area can also recognize the charging status of mobile devices, adaptively adjust the height, and activate active heat dissipation.
The Avita 12 is equipped with the Huawei advanced intelligent driving system ADS 2.0. The entire system comes standard with 29 intelligent driving sensors, including 3 laser radars, 3 millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, giving the vehicle stronger perception capabilities. In addition, ADS 2.0 can achieve advanced intelligent driving coverage in high-speed, urban, and parking scenarios, making it more adaptable to complex road traffic scenes.
In terms of seats, the Avita 12 front row is equipped with dual zero-gravity astronaut seats, with a bucket design to enhance the sporty feel. The integrated seat headrest features a butterfly-shaped design, and the seat surface has contrasting colors and meticulous stitching, bringing a strong sense of luxury. Functionally, it also has rich features such as one-touch zero gravity, heating, massage, ventilation, and remote start, maximizing the interactive experience between people and cars. The rear seats are equally comfortable, and due to the long wheelbase design, they also provide excellent legroom.
In terms of storage space, the Avita 12 has a front and rear storage compartment with volumes of 46 liters and 350 liters respectively. The front trunk is equipped with a 12V power supply, and the rear seats support a 4:6 fold down, further expanding the space.
Born in CHN, the Avita 12 four-wheel drive model will be equipped with Huawei DriveONE dual-motor system, with maximum power of 195kW/230kW for the front and rear motors; maximum power of 230kW for single-motor model. The power battery is supplied by CATL with ternary lithium battery pack.
