BMW will “show off its muscles” at this year’s CES exhibition, showcasing the latest achievements in intelligent cabins, intelligent driving, and other areas. According to official sources, BMW is creating a “smarter” new generation of personal assistants, based on Amazon Alexa’s generative AI technology, which claims to “understand you and your car better.” The company also guarantees that the generative AI will neither take over the user’s operations nor steal their information. The Alexa model will debut in the new version of the car’s system, which is currently being gradually rolled out.
In addition, BMW will introduce new in-car gaming feature that allows smartphones to be used as game controllers connected to the car’s infotainment system. After the next car infotainment system update, users can use “real” game controllers such as Xbox and PlayStation controllers to play games on the car’s infotainment system.
During this CES, BMW will also showcase the application of VR, AR and other technologies in the cabin. When used with AR glasses, it can display navigation instructions, entertainment content, charging station information, and parking conditions. The official also said that even in complex driving situations such as turning and bumping, the content remains clear and vivid.
BMW will also showcase the “next generation” valet parking solution with Valeo, allowing drivers to park their vehicles in designated areas, where the vehicle will automatically search for a parking space and park itself. When the driver needs the vehicle again, it can automatically exit the parking space and drive back to the pick-up area.
