The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the 379th announcement of road motor vehicle production enterprises and products. We obtained the declaration pictures and information of the new pure electric MINI COOPER model from it.
According to official sources, the all-new MINI electric car will be produced in China and exported to global markets, demonstrating BMW’s strategic focus on the Chinese market.
In terms of appearance, the all-new electric MINI COOPER can be recognized as a “MINI” at first glance. Despite being electric, the classic body proportions, ubiquitous circular elements, and the design of the Union Jack are all long-standing and iconic design elements of the MINI brand.
The front end of the MINI carries on the iconic circular headlight design, paired with a striking new octagonal grille, which outlines the dynamic momentum of the front end. The LED daytime running lights not only have three adjustable modes, but also can interact with people, displaying welcome/goodbye animations when turned on/off. The external interaction experience alone is full of ritualistic significance.
Furthermore, the new accent color “Vibrant Silver” has replaced traditional chrome, adding a bright spot to the appearance.
On the side of the car, the black door sills enhance the dynamic spirit, visually lowering the height of the body, as if flying close to the ground. The waistline adopts a through design, accentuating the sense of hierarchy on the side of the body. The classic four-wheel design not only maximizes the use of interior space, but also brings out a vibrant sports atmosphere. According to the information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the dimensions of the all-new pure electric MINI COOPER are 3858/1756/1458mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2526mm.
The rear of the car is hard to ignore, with a clear and smooth overall design. The matrix LED taillights also have three adjustable modes, still featuring the classic vertical light group design of MINI, and still hiding the elements of the Union Jack flag.
The interior features a minimalist style. HUD replaces the traditional dashboard, and the central control screen uses a 9.44-inch circular OLED touchscreen that combines technology and retro elements. Below the screen is the classic lever, and the air conditioning vents feature a through-style design.
The all-new electric MINI COOPER offers 8 “experience modes” in its digital experience – Initial mode, Karting mode, Energy-saving mode, Relax mode, Nostalgic mode, Custom mode, Party mode, and Nomadic mode. Each mode has its own specific user interface design. Each mode feels like giving the vehicle a different personality.
The large curved dashboard in the front row also uses renewable woven fabric for the first time, with a two-tone design, distinct layers, and excellent texture, customizable with decorative colors. The seats are made of high-quality Vescin material, and all fabrics, roof, and floor materials are made from recycled materials.
The new MINI operating system can be awakened with just a simple “Hello MINI”. It has two visual representations – a stylized “MINI” or a digital cute pet Spike. Additionally, it offers charging-optimized route planning based on cloud navigation system.
The design of the rear part of the vehicle also maximizes space. The rear seats fold in a 6:4 ratio, expanding the trunk volume from 200 liters to 800 liters, easily meeting various loading needs for urban travel.
In terms of power, the all-new pure electric MINI COOPER has a maximum output power of 160kW, making it powerful for such a “little guy”. In terms of range, it will use a 54kWh capacity battery, expected to bring about 400km of maximum range.
According to official information, the steering system of the all-new pure electric MINI COOPER has also been significantly improved. By installing highly pre-tensioned stabilizer brackets on the axle, drivers can experience significantly improved body response during dynamic turns, and the precision and stability of the steering have been enhanced.
