BYD announced this afternoon that the new mid-size “Urban Smart Electric SUV” Sea Lion 07 EV will be equipped with the advanced intelligent driving system “God’s Eye” and will support multiple intelligent driving functions such as high-speed navigation.
According to official information, “Tianshen Eye” is the world’s first vehicle-mounted computing platform completely designed, developed, and produced by the vehicle manufacturer. The algorithm is completely self-developed, and it is also the world’s first to propose a vehicle-level integrated perception platform, with direct physical sensing of the entire vehicle and indirect sensing fusion of software algorithms. The high-speed navigation system equipped on the Sea Lion 07 EV will have multiple driving functions, such as lane keeping, lane navigation, lane change by lever, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent speed limit. It claims to be able to fully learn the driving strategy of human drivers. During the recent 2024 BYD Dream Day, BYD released the “Vehicle Intelligence” strategy, claiming to achieve the integration of electrification and intelligence through the Xuanji intelligent architecture. BYD also held a large-scale intelligent experience exhibition, covering a series of technologies such as vehicle intelligence, intelligent driving, intelligent parking, and intelligent cockpit. According to previous reports by IT Home, the Sea Lion 07 EV appeared in the 379th batch of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products Announcement” new product publicity catalog. The car made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show and is planned to be launched in the first half of 2024, with an expected price of 200,000-260,000 yuan (36530$).
The car measures 4,830×1,925×1,620mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2,930mm. It will offer rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, equipped with iTAC technology, front double wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, and Yunnei C smart damping body control system, according to official sources. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car will be available in three powertrain options, with the two-wheel drive models offering 230kW and 170kW motors, and the all-wheel drive models featuring front and rear motors with maximum power of 160kW and 230kW, respectively.
