In terms of appearance, the fuel and electric models have a highly unified design, with the exception of blue accents, wheel hubs, and front and rear markings, making them difficult to distinguish.
The circular shining grille has high recognition, the “angel eye” headlights are more streamlined, and the “5” shining logo on the Hofmeister kink is exclusive to the Chinese market. Additionally, both gasoline and electric versions offer two appearance packages to choose from: luxury package and M sport package.
The i5 M60 xDrive stands out with its unique appearance, featuring black accents throughout the body to showcase its performance.
In terms of body size: The body size of the 5 Series long wheelbase version and the i5 long wheelbase version is the same, with dimensions of 5175/1900/1520mm, and a wheelbase of 3105mm, officially referred to as the “largest 5 Series”; The standard wheelbase version of the 5 Series has dimensions of 5060/1900/1515mm, with a wheelbase of 2995mm; The i5 M60 xDrive has dimensions of 5060/1900/1505mm, with a wheelbase of 2995mm.
In terms of interior, the hybrid also adopts a highly unified design, with the concept of “Tech Magic”, integrated curved screen, wrap-around light strip, crystal-like central control key, creating a rich visual experience with levels. The 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and 14.9-inch central control screen are integrated, both with a resolution of 200ppi. The iDrive operating system adopts a zero-level design of “map + floating window”, introducing local applications such as WeChat, iQiyi, and Tencent Video.
The long-wheelbase model offers a 31-inch rear suspended screen with a resolution of 7680*2160, supporting 16:9, 21:9, 32:9 aspect ratios and adjustable main screen position, with built-in Huawei AppGallery. The panoramic starry sky roof is embedded with ambient light strips, increasing the visible area by 30% compared to the previous generation.
Depending on the car model and options, Harman/Kardon high-end audio system and Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system are available as options.

In terms of handling, the all-new 5 Series/i5 features a combination of independent suspension with double-wishbone double ball joint front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, while the i5 strengthens the chassis structure and applies air springs to the rear axle. Additionally, the new car adopts BMW’s 9th generation lateral dynamics management system to improve cornering performance. It also uses BMW’s 2nd generation integrated braking system, with a full braking pressure build-up time of only 150ms, reducing braking distance by 20% compared to traditional braking.
In the pure electric version, the i5 eDrive 35L standard model has a range of 567km with CLTC, and the luxury model has a range of 536km with CLTC. The fast charging time from 10% to 80% is 32 minutes. The i5 M60 xDrive has a range of 570km with CLTC and a fast charging time from 10% to 80% of 30 minutes.
In terms of intelligent driving, the core configuration of the all-new 5 Series/i5 includes automatic lane change function with visual confirmation. After the driver visually confirms, the vehicle can automatically overtake within the speed range of 60-180 km/h.
