Chevrolet’s all-new next-generation Trailblazer made its debut in North America on January 23. The new car is expected to be released in the United States in mid-2022, with the domestic market possibly having to wait until the end of the year. The new car, released this time, comes in two special edition models – RS and Activ, adopting the latest family design language. The new car is positioned as a compact SUV, with a full and angular exterior design. Its dimensions are 4653/1902/1667mm, with a wheelbase of 2730mm. The two special edition models feature different design styles, with Activ emphasizing off-road capabilities and RS highlighting a highway driving style.
The new car comes with an 11-inch instrument panel and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. It does not give up physical buttons and knobs, and still has a row of physical buttons and knobs below the air conditioning vents. The new generation Explorer will offer a safety assistance package, including enhanced lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning, rearview camera, and more.
In terms of power, the car will come standard with a 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine, capable of producing 175 horsepower. The car can switch between driving modes such as normal, snow, and off-road using a knob, and will also offer a four-wheel drive version. According to IT Home’s previous report, the Chevrolet Trailblazer plug-in hybrid model appeared in the list of applications to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in December last year. It is equipped with a 1.5L engine produced by SAIC-GM, with a maximum power of 127kW. At the same time, the car’s power battery comes from Fudi Battery Co., Ltd. in Qinghai and Xi’an, equipped with a peak power of 140kW drive motor, with a top speed of 180km/h.
