The car adopts BMW’s new generation design language, continuing the family-style kidney grille and Hofmeister kink on the side of the car, with dimensions of 5175/1900/1520mm and a wheelbase of 3105mm.
The new car is specially customized for the Chinese market. In addition to the “conventional” extended wheelbase, the long-wheelbase model also comes with a 31-inch suspended giant screen at the rear top, with 8K resolution and built-in iQiyi and Huawei AppGallery. The new car will be equipped with the iDrive 8.5 system, introducing the “Smart Control Floating Window” design, allowing users to quickly and conveniently access preset functions, and supporting the car version of WeChat. In terms of intelligence, the car is equipped with L2+ level intelligent assisted driving, claiming to bring more than 2000 localized adjustments for the Chinese market, and equipped with a lane change function optimized for Chinese customer features and driving habits.
The all-new BMW 5 Series features a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and a 14.9-inch touchscreen in the central control area, along with a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and four-zone automatic air conditioning with independent rear control.
In terms of power, the gasoline version will offer the 525Li and 530Li models to choose from, each equipped with high and low power versions of the 2.0T engine, with maximum power of 156kW and 211kW respectively. The pure electric i5 single motor model has a maximum power of 250kW, peak torque of 430N·m, and a CLTC range of 567km. The i5 M60 xDrive model with dual motor all-wheel drive system has a maximum power of 380kW, maximum torque of 795N·m, and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
