On February 12, Aston Martin officially released the latest addition to its iconic car series, the all-new Vantage. The all-new Vantage will begin production in the first quarter of 2024 and deliveries will start in China within the same year. It is powered by a significantly upgraded handcrafted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, making it the fastest model in the history of the Vantage series. Its performance has been greatly improved, with 0-100km/h acceleration taking just 3.5 seconds.
In terms of appearance, the all-new Vantage has a 30mm wider body for a more muscular look. The front face has been completely redesigned with a 38% larger grille opening, increasing airflow by 29% and greatly improving cooling efficiency.
The bumper on both sides of the intake grille also features additional cooling air intakes, making the front of the car more distinctive, while the new integrated splitter adopts a wider and lower stance, not only increasing visual impact but also providing high-speed stability by reducing lift, and adopting a completely new matrix LED front headlight design with integrated daytime running lights.
In terms of interior, the all-new Vantage features a surround sound system developed by audio partner Bowers & Wilkins. The interior of the all-new Vantage is crafted with soft, fragrant Bridge of Weir leather, creating a comfortable and cozy driving space. The highly supportive sports seats and driver-centered ergonomic design make the driving experience easier and more comfortable, enhancing the luxurious tone and adding fun to every journey.
The all-new Vantage is also equipped with Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system, which has been completely developed independently by Aston Martin from scratch. The system is supported by the new Aston Martin App, which supports iOS and Android devices. Owners can connect to the all-new Vantage through their phones and interact with the vehicle, as well as control various functions. The next-generation infotainment system is a fully integrated multi-screen system with complete online functionality, featuring a 10.25-inch pure black panel touchscreen and providing full capacitive single and multi-touch gesture control. It also retains physical buttons for key mechanical operations such as gear selection, drive mode selection, heating, and ventilation, balancing touch control with the tactile feel of physical switches.
In addition, the chassis, ESP control, exhaust mode, lane assist, and parking control all have physical buttons for intuitive operation without taking eyes off the road.
The all-new Vantage engine has a peak power of 665 horsepower and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. Compared to the previous model, both power and torque have achieved the largest leap to date, with power and torque increasing by 155 horsepower and 115 Nm, respectively, a 30% and 15% increase. Paired with the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, this two-seater sports car can reach a top speed of 325 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The final drive ratio and gearbox shift calibration have been carefully tuned to maximize response speed and driving pleasure, with the former providing stronger inter-gear acceleration performance and the latter shortening shift speeds and providing different shift characteristics to adapt to the various dynamic modes of the all-new Vantage.
The all-new launch control feature of the Vantage makes acceleration perfect. It is fully integrated with the powertrain, transmission, and electronic stability program. When activated, the launch control system releases maximum torque, utilizing electronic differential, ESP traction control, and engine torque management to maintain optimal wheel slip during the entire acceleration process.
The driver can also have precise control through the adjustable traction control system – reducing or increasing the amount of wheel slip allowed for a catapult start, or completely shutting off traction control, allowing the driver to have full throttle control. The increase in engine performance adds to the heat load, requiring a redesign of the engine cooling system. To ensure stable intake temperatures under any conditions, a low-temperature radiator has been added to the supercharger cooling water circuit, and two auxiliary coolers have been added to the existing central main radiator to further increase heat capacity. The oil system has also been completely upgraded, with the external oil cooler having twice the heat dissipation area of the previous generation, and an increase in airflow, resulting in a 50% increase in the amount of cold air reaching the radiator.
The highly evolved bonded aluminum structure, perfect 50:50 weight distribution, and advanced suspension system lay the foundation for an outstanding driving experience. Based on Aston Martin’s latest generation of bonded aluminum structure, the new Vantage significantly enhances body strength and overall torsional rigidity with reinforced components at the bottom, achieving more captivating dynamic performance. In addition, the redesigned front body crossbeam position has been moved rearward to increase the mounting point rigidity of the double wishbone front suspension, improving the steering feel of the vehicle whether in central or off-center positions. By installing more robust and lightweight engine support brackets, further enhances the torsional and lateral stiffness between the front suspension towers.
