On March 11, the all-new MINI JCW COUNTRYMAN was officially launched in China. The official retail price is 399,800 yuan (55650$). The new car is the first MINI model to wear the new JCW brand logo, which features the classic black, red, and white colors and the racing checkered flag totem, reflecting the history and unique community culture of the MINI brand very well.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a “mini and simple” new design language, with large blackened body decorations and a redesigned John Cooper Works logo. The “four wheels and four corners” body proportions, classic Union Jack LED matrix taillights, and ubiquitous circular elements make the all-new MINI JCW COUNTRYMAN still authentic and recognizable at a glance.
The overall size of the new car has been significantly increased to 4433*1843*1656mm, with a wheelbase of 2692mm. The body is 123mm longer, 21mm wider, and 44mm higher than the current model, with the rear seat offering a 13cm front-to-back sliding distance and a storage capacity of 460~1530 liters.
In terms of interior, the new car features colorful woven decorative materials on the center console and central armrest. Starting from the all-new MINI JCW COUNTRYMAN, the new models of the MINI family will be equipped with the all-new MINI Operating System 9, integrating digital functions into the world’s first circular OLED display screen, and also extending the screen image to the entire interior panel through projection technology.
MINI, known for its expertise in digital experiences, has introduced 8 different modes including the initial mode, karting mode, eco-friendly mode, chill mode, retro mode, custom mode, party mode, and nomadic mode, each with its own unique user interface design. The MINI brand’s first “smart personal assistant” – MINI digital pet Spike also makes an appearance inside the car. This mini digital pet has been reimagined and given new life in the digital world, appearing on the round OLED central display screen and dashboard of the new MINI family models.
In addition, the all-new MINI JCW COUNTRYMAN is the first MINI model to achieve Level 2 autonomous driving assistance. In 1964, the John Cooper team introduced the Mini Cooper S on the road to performance, winning the Monte Carlo Rally championship in 1964 and 1965. Winning numerous championships has also stamped the MINI brand with a performance mark. In the following years, the sport essence of MINI in racing events was perfectly inherited in 2007 through MINI’s high-performance sub-brand JOHN COOPER WORKS, giving MINI a more pure sense of driving pleasure.
As the most hardcore model in the MINI family, the all-new MINI JCW COUNTRYMAN’s 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engine delivers an astonishing 150 horsepower. Its outstanding performance, combined with ALL4 intelligent all-wheel drive technology and class-leading 0.26Cd low drag coefficient, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.4 seconds.
