The appearance of the new generation concept car is highly recognizable, reminiscent of the “New Generation” models of the 1960s, exuding the confidence of a century-old brand. The distinctive BMW iconic kidney grille and classic “Hofmeister kink” elements pay tribute to the classics while looking towards the future. Based on the BMW 1500, the BMW “New Generation” models establish the brand direction of “sporty luxury,” with the brand characteristic of “pure driving pleasure” deeply rooted since then. The design of the BMW New Generation is not about deliberately retaining traditional elements, but about meaningful innovation in heritage. The entire front of the new generation concept car extends the visual width, enhancing the character of a sporty sedan; the headlight unit integrates into the huge kidney-shaped grille, creating a mysterious depth with layered design effects. The kidney design of the BMW New Generation X concept car adopts a different approach, but equally sophisticated. The headlight design is consistent with the sedan style, but features a solid kidney grille in the middle position. The unprecedented vertical geometric shape is reminiscent of the “New Generation” of the 1960s, but with the ability to illuminate the kidney outline and the depth of the headlights, creating a more distinct hierarchy and becoming a model of “digital physics” design. Combined with the dark surround at the lower front of the car.
