If the all-new Zhi Ji L6 were released a month earlier, the price of the Xiaomi SU7 might really drop a bit. Equipped with “little brain” Lingxi digital chassis, turning radius comparable to Volkswagen Polo, standard across the board; laser radar + Nvidia Orin X chip, standard across the board; CDC + air suspension + rear wheel steering, unique in the same class with unique U-turn and crab mode; also featuring Lightyear solid-state battery, 133kWh range breaking a thousand; 21,000 rpm direct waterfall oil-cooled flat-wire wound motor, top speed over 268km/h…… The skill set of the all-new Zhi Ji L6 is far more extensive than the Xiaomi SU7, the only thing it might not match is the countless paid car-mounted expansion hardware.
Many people say that Zhiji L6 is riding on the popularity of Xiaomi SU7. In the current Chinese car market, it is an era where traffic is king. Many good products are being overshadowed. With Zhiji L6 and Xiaomi SU7 positioned and priced so closely, riding this wave of traffic is both inevitable and necessary.
Back to the all-new Zhiji L6, three models were released with pre-sale prices: the Max standard version pre-sale price not exceeding 230,000 yuan (31790$), the ultra-performance version pre-sale price not exceeding 299,900 yuan (41460$), and the top-of-the-line Max Lightyear version with “Lightyear” solid-state battery pre-sale price not exceeding 330,000 yuan (45620$). The actual market price will definitely be lower. At the same time, the official also announced the sincere “limited-time reservation benefits”, with a 2000 yuan (280$) deposit to offset 5000 yuan (690$) of the final payment, as well as a 10,000 yuan (1380$) luxury configuration upgrade fund.
The all-new Zhi Ji L6 adopts a family-style simple, technological, and noble style, creating a sculptural visual effect through smooth and natural lines and elegant surfaces. The tapered waistline on the side and the prominent wide-body style at the rear are major highlights. The new car also uses more low-saturation premium colors, including Ares Black, Raphael Tea, Rembrandt Gray, and so on. In terms of dimensions, the Zhi Ji L6 measures 4931x1960x1474mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2950mm. The combination of 245 front and 275 rear tires is very suitable for its sporty positioning.
The interior features a 26.3-inch ultra-narrow horizontal dual screen and a 10.5-inch lower functional screen as the core of interactive entertainment. The cockpit chip is upgraded to the latest Qualcomm 8295, providing the Smart Self L6 with more powerful performance for a better experience in image quality and AI models.
In terms of power, the Zhiji L6 Max standard version is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor drive, with a maximum power of 216kW. The high-performance version is equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive, with a total power of 579kW and a 0-100 acceleration time of just 2.74 seconds. According to previous information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car will offer three battery capacities: 90kWh, 100kWh, and 133kWh, with a minimum range of 700km. The range of the 133kWh light-year solid-state battery model will exceed 1000km.
Besides solid-state batteries, the Zhiji L6 series comes standard with the ‘Lingxi Digital Chassis’, which performs well. By coordinating the vehicle’s motion in all dimensions, it becomes the first car in China to be equipped with a “super brain”, achieving integrated control of all dynamic performance. In urban daily scenarios, the ‘Lingxi Digital Chassis’ can make all four wheels move in the same direction and angle through the rear wheel steering system, making the L6 the first sedan in China that can “crab walk”, easily handling the most common pain point in parking – “parallel parking”, reducing the required parking space length by 11%. At the same time, the flexibility of the Zhiji L6 rivals that of small cars like the Volkswagen Polo with a wheelbase of only 2.5 meters, not only having a turning radius of just 4.99 meters but also requiring half a turn less of the steering wheel when making a full turn. 6 or 7? This question may not be a problem for me personally at all. For the first car of a new brand, as long as it’s not a “truly amazing product”, considerations such as reliability, stability, after-sales service capabilities, and uncertain future resale value would basically not be taken into account.
Xiaomi SU7 will face a tough test in product quality and after-sales service as delivery volume increases. After all, ordinary consumers care about functionality and after-sales service, and will lose patience if they are not satisfied.

In terms of vehicle intelligence, the Xiaomi SU7’s smart cabin focuses on cross-border interaction between “people, cars, and homes,” seamless connectivity with Xiaomi phones, and expanded support for other phones like Apple Carplay and iPad. The Smart Self L6’s cabin leans towards practicality, with features such as the highly praised A-pillar blind spot assist, new rain night mode, and AI algorithm for early video alerts of potential emergencies. Carlog’s four-way image and AI algorithm automatically capture highlights moments, making it easy to share on social media. Comparable to City Walk, City Drive allows you to explore while driving, with the car system recommending nearby points of interest based on big data. Additionally, the Smart Self L6 slogan is “no brand discrimination, all inclusive,” offering support for both Android and Apple users with an official dock for seamless phone mirroring and wireless charging with added cooling for Apple users.
In terms of intelligent driving, Xiaomi SU7 has two options. The standard version does not have a laser radar and uses a chip with lower computing power. On the other hand, the Zhiji L6 comes standard with a laser radar + visual sensor solution and is equipped with the NVIDIA Orin X chip, which is once again superior. In terms of basic L2 and high-speed NOA functions, there should be no issues. As for the more challenging city NOA, Xiaomi SU7 is expected to be available nationwide in August, while Zhiji L6 is expected to be available nationwide for use in cities without maps by the end of the year. In terms of the three-electric technology, Zhiji L6 has a higher value. When comparing the SU7 MAX and the high-performance version of L6 with similar prices, the most direct comparison is the data. Zhiji L6 accelerates 0.04 seconds faster per 100 kilometers, with a top speed of 268km/h, which can reportedly exceed 300km/h. The difference is small, but it clearly outperforms. Lastly, there is a subjective comparison. EV Jun is not a fan of Xiaomi SU7’s “Mi Porsche” design style, while the Zhiji L6, with a higher level of originality and a more sophisticated line design, is more appealing.
