On April 25, 2024, at the Beijing Auto Show, the SAIC Volkswagen booth in Hall W4 showcased the debut of the new Touareg L Pro. The event also included the unveiling of a new spokesperson and a series of related releases, including the ID Care financial policy.
The Tiguan L Pro offers a classic and steady front face design, as well as a sporty R-Line front face design, to meet the needs of different consumer groups. The R-Line version includes many cool black sporty accessories such as black wheels and exterior mirrors, giving the vehicle a strong sense of sportiness and aggression.
The Tiguan L Pro is the first SAIC Volkswagen model equipped with IQ.Light high-resolution intelligent projection headlights. It supports various functions such as dynamic light assistance, and its most prominent feature is the “narrow road widening” function, which can recognize road repair signs and assist drivers in determining if the road ahead is passable by projecting light columns that show the width of the car.
The Tiguan L Pro aims to create a more technologically advanced and immersive digital cockpit experience with its 15-inch smart 2K floating screen, 11.6-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, 10.3-inch all-digital LCD instrument panel, black crystal smart control knob, and w-HUD panoramic display system, along with the 6-screen interaction composed of smartphones.
The Tiguan L Pro is equipped with the IQ. Pilot intelligent driving assistance system developed in collaboration with DJI. It is a high-end intelligent driving assistance system more suitable for Chinese road conditions, with advanced adaptive cruise control system Pro version and lane keeping system Pro version. The former can automatically adjust the following distance in congested road sections and adaptively adjust the cornering speed. The latter can recognize various lane lines through dual cameras to simulate real driving habits to a greater extent.
The new car is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, still offering two power versions of 330TSI/380TSI to choose from, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. As a former benchmark SUV product, facing the current wave of intelligence, the Tiguan L Pro, which the manufacturer has given the heavy responsibility of “the disruptor of intelligent oil vehicles”, is a new model equipped with the new MQB EVO intelligent digital architecture. Compared to the changes in exterior design, the highlight of this new car’s renewal and upgrade is its intelligent technology equipment from the inside out.
