The new car’s key highlights include comprehensive upgrades in configuration and design details. The first batch of new cars will begin large-scale deliveries on May 15th.
In terms of appearance, the new M5 has been meticulously refined while retaining its original style. The car features a closed front grille with the logo in darkened finish, seamlessly integrated with the headlights. The silver decorative strip on the lower bumper has been replaced with a more dynamic black element. Other exterior features remain consistent with the current model.
On the side of the car body, the camera components on the fenders and the chrome trim around the windows have been changed to a smoked black style. They are matched with black dual five-spoke sport wheels, paired with eye-catching red brake calipers, giving the vehicle a stronger sporty visual effect. The high-performance version comes with 20-inch wheels and P ZERO high-performance tires, while the long-range version uses 19-inch wheels and low rolling resistance quiet tires. The roof still retains the laser radar device. The dimensions of the new car are 4770mm in length, 1930mm in width, 1625mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2880mm, belonging to the mid-size SUV category. In addition, the new M5 also introduces an RS version, which features unique obsidian logos and obsidian sport wheels.
Entering the car, the familiar layout and warm color scheme create a comfortable driving environment. The functional areas are clearly divided and easy to operate. The few physical buttons also enhance the overall quality. The notable change is the upgrade of the HUAWEI SOUND speaker above the central control screen from the previous metal honeycomb panel to a new design. The interior color schemes offer three options: sparrow red, amber brown, and apricot.
All models upgraded to Comfort Cloud material like the Wanjie M9, seat cushion thickness increased to 100mm, significantly improving softness and support. Panoramic sunroof uses aviation-grade double-layered silver-plated glass, ensuring wide view and blocking 99.9% of UV rays. Charging facilities upgraded, equipped with 2 50W super wireless fast charging and 3 66W wired super fast charging ports, and efficient intelligent air conditioning system installed.
In terms of audio system, the new Wanjie M5 is upgraded with the same series of star ring scatterers as the Wanjie M9, combined with HUAWEI SOUND audio, providing a better sound quality experience and immersive atmosphere. Thanks to the deep integration of Super Desktop, Harmony Sharing function, dual HUAWEI Maglink car interfaces, and Xiaoyi intelligent voice assistant, users can easily achieve multiple entertainment scenarios in the car, such as multiplayer online games, synchronized viewing for front and rear rows, and high-definition video calls. In terms of power performance, the new Wanjie M5 offers pure electric and extended range power configurations. The extended range model is equipped with a 1.5T engine as a range extender, with a maximum power of 152 horsepower. The electric motor output is available in two configurations: two-wheel drive with 200kW/360Nm and four-wheel drive with 365kW/675Nm. The pure electric range is 255 kilometers, with a comprehensive range of 1440 kilometers and acceleration of 4.3 seconds per 100 kilometers. The pure electric model only offers a rear-wheel drive version, with a maximum power of 200kW and peak torque of 360Nm, achieving a pure electric range of 602 kilometers under CLTC conditions. In terms of chassis structure, the new car is made of full aluminum material, with a front suspension of a four-ball double wishbone structure and a rear suspension of a multi-link independent suspension, equipped with HUAWEI DATS 2.0 intelligent collaborative technology. All models come standard with the Huawei smart driving system, including 1 LiDAR, 3 mmWave radars, 11 camera sensors, and 12 ultrasonic radars, with a detection range of up to 200 meters. As of the release, the system has accumulated over 200 million kilometers of driving, with an average MPI takeover distance of over 270 kilometers and a success rate of 99.2% for entering and exiting city elevated roads.
