Following the hot sales of eπ007 after its launch, Dongfeng Yipai officially unveiled its second model eπ008 at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25, and simultaneously started pre-sale, with prices ranging from 20 to 25 million yuan.
The new car is positioned as a family intelligent large SUV, with a length of 5002mm and a wheelbase of 3025mm, offering pure electric and extended range power options. The eπ008 pre-sale policy was announced simultaneously, from April 25 to May 31, with a down payment of 99 yuan (10$) to enjoy booking benefits worth over 10,000 yuan (1380$). According to official information, over 10,000 orders were placed within five hours of the pre-sale opening.
In terms of appearance, the eπ008 demonstrates the iconic design of new energy vehicles, with a highly simplified front end. As a large SUV, it also has a strong presence with dimensions of 5002*1972*1732mm and a wheelbase of 3025mm. The interior features zero gravity seats, easy access, seat massage and ventilation, dual-use mobile refrigerator, and other leading configurations in its class.
The eπ008 is built on the Dongfeng Quantum architecture, equipped with the Dongfeng Mach E electric drive system. The electric drive assembly achieves a maximum efficiency of 94.5%. The pure electric model has a comprehensive energy consumption as low as 14.7kwh/100km, with a CLTC range of 636km. The extended-range model features the industry’s first dedicated engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.18%. The CLTC pure electric range is 210km, with a fuel consumption of 5.55L/100km. The CLTC comprehensive range reaches 1300km.
In collaboration with the front and rear 6 screens, full scene voice control, panoramic sound WANOS and audio-visual entertainment ecosystem, eπ008 can meet the audio-visual entertainment needs of family travel, and also provide convenient full vehicle control functions.
In terms of vehicle safety, the eπ008 car body adopts a high-strength + energy-absorbing cage structure, with 6 airbags as standard and side curtain airbags to protect three rows of passengers. The battery safety of eπ008 is a major advantage, with the Mach E power battery core being super safe, not afraid of puncture, compression, immersion, or shock, far exceeding national standards. eπ008 will begin delivery in June this year.
eπ007 and eπ008 both participated in the exhibition. Since its launch on March 14th, the pure electric version of the Da Ding has exceeded 10,000.
This car is clearly designed for young people, with sporty styling that is eye-catching. It features electric rear wing, butterfly shadow light blanket, flip-up instrument panel, power liftgate, panoramic sunroof and other trendy configurations loved by young people.
eπ007 comes standard with eπ PILOT intelligent driving assistance, with the option to upgrade to the Intelligent Driving Navigation Package, offering “High-speed NOA Navigation Assistance” and “LAPA Long-distance Memory Parking.” It features the unique Dongfeng SOA intelligent cockpit and WANOS panoramic surround sound, along with a smart interactive voice system. The rear-wheel drive version of eπ007 has a maximum power of 200kW, and it is the only one in its class to offer electric four-wheel drive, with a motor power of up to 400kW and 0-100 acceleration in 3 seconds. With a 50:50 golden axle load ratio and a low center of gravity, eπ007 achieves better cornering stability while maintaining high speed.
According to official information, Dongfeng Yipai will continue to focus on pure electric and extended range powertrains in the 150,000-250,000 yuan (34530$) market segment, competing directly with mainstream new energy brands. Expect Dongfeng Yipai to introduce more impressive products in the future, providing consumers with more choices for new energy vehicles.
