On April 25, 2024, the Beijing Auto Show opened. At this show, Hyundai brought the highly anticipated N brand high-performance hydrogen fuel cell hybrid concept car N Vision 74, as well as the first N brand mass-produced car model introduced to the Chinese market, the all-new Elantra N and its high-performance kit modification version, along with the all-new Elantra N1 standard race car, IONIQ 5 N drift version model. The first mass-produced high-performance electric car under the N brand, IONIQ 5 N Chinese version model, also made its debut. In addition, the all-new Santa Fe from Beijing Hyundai also appeared on the stage.
The IONIQ 5 N is the first high-performance electric vehicle produced by Hyundai’s N brand, positioned as a mid-size SUV. It will be the second model introduced to the Chinese market by the Hyundai N brand after the new Elantra N. In terms of hardware, the IONIQ 5 N is equipped with a large cooling area, N-exclusive high-efficiency radiator kit, enhanced motor oil cooling, and battery cooler for enhanced heat dissipation. The IONIQ 5 N will also feature a high-performance braking system with front and rear brake discs made of lightweight metal with a hybrid structure, paired with a one-piece four-piston front caliper with high-friction brake pads, and front and rear dedicated air ducts to increase vehicle braking and cooling efficiency.
In addition, the IONIQ 5 N Drift version is equipped with N Drift Optimize electronic control technology, which allows real-time response and input during driving to balance multiple vehicle controls to maintain drift angle. In terms of power, the IONIQ 5 N features a dual-motor power system with a maximum output power of 610 horsepower and a maximum torque of 740 N·m. When the N Grin Boost function is activated, the vehicle’s horsepower can be increased from 609 horsepower to 650 horsepower and maintained for 10 seconds. The IONIQ 5 N is equipped with an 84.0 kWh high-capacity battery and 800V battery technology, allowing it to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
The new car continues the overall design style of the new Elantra, with added sporty accessories, especially the powerful dual exhausts highlighting enhanced performance.
In the interior, the Elantra N features a black color scheme, N series exclusive sport steering wheel and paddle shifters, large area suede material wrapping, and N series exclusive logo on the sports seats. In terms of power, the Elantra N is equipped with a 2.0T engine, delivering a maximum power of 203 kW and maximum torque of 392 Nm, paired with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. It also comes with N driving modes, N power shift mode, and N track sensing shift, enhancing the driving experience. Hydrogen fuel cell hybrid concept car N Vision 74.
Before, the concept car N Vision 74 had already appeared at the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show. The new car features a retro design and a new layout concept. By improving its cooling performance and providing higher power output, N Vision 74 can enhance its driving environment and battery or hydrogen fuel usage conditions. Even though it is an electric car, N Vision 74 still comes equipped with a front grille and LED lights on both sides with a distinct electronic style. The front bumper has also been transformed into a more aggressive and sporty design. The N Vision 74 body adopts a two-door fastback coupe structure and is equipped with a large rear spoiler and a large rear diffuser.
In terms of power, N Vision 74 will be equipped with rear dual motors, total power exceeding 500 kilowatts, peak torque exceeding 900 Nm, and precise torque vectoring control system. In terms of range, the new car will have over 600 kilometers of range.
The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show with a popular “square box” design. The square front face and rectangular grille enhance the thick feel of the front end, while the H-shaped headlights echo the logo and form an H shape with the central light strip through the grille, highlighting the brand’s symbolic design.
The all-new SsangYong Rexton features a full-size SUV style, with straight and simple body lines outlining its overall presence. The sharp edges, combined with the long tailgate design, give it a very imposing look. The vehicle measures 4830mm in length, 1720mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2815mm.
In terms of interior design, the new Shengda adopts a new modern family design style, incorporating elements from hardcore off-road vehicles, with a spacious and relaxed overall style, high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The new car features a three-spoke round steering wheel and seems to have adopted a wrap-around design, with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel + 12.3-inch central control display screen forming a large integrated curved screen, significantly enhancing the interior’s sense of technology. In terms of powertrain, the new car will be equipped with a 1.6T hybrid powertrain system and a 2.5T engine. The 1.6T hybrid powertrain system has a maximum power of 169kW and a maximum torque of 350Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5T engine has a maximum power of 207kW and a maximum torque of 422Nm, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
