On April 25, the Beijing Auto Show officially opened. Xiaopeng Motors, located in W4 Pavilion, not only showcased popular models such as Xiaopeng X9, G6, G9, but also debuted various technologies including AI Tianji system, 800kW liquid-cooled S5 ultra-fast charging plan, as well as the new sub-brand MONA and Xiaopeng Huitian “Land Aircraft Carrier” split-type flying car.
Xiaopeng X9 is the flagship intelligent MPV model under the brand, breaking the traditional boxy shape and combining the features of a large seven-seat MPV and a large four-seat SUV. Xiaopeng X9 has achieved great sales performance in the market, with 7872 units delivered from January to March 2024, securing the top spot in pure electric MPV sales and pure electric three-row seat sales. Xiaopeng Motors Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said, “The next decade will be the decade of intelligence, with the core of smart cars being in operation. Car software releases will become the industry norm. Next, Xiaopeng Motors will focus on the Xiaopeng X9 model and begin testing the new AI+X9 version.”
AI large models are currently the hottest trend in smart technology. The rapid development and widespread use of AI large models have made smart cars the forefront of AI technology applications. In response to this trend, Xiaopeng Motors has announced the global debut of the AI Tianji system. Xiaopeng Motors’ AI smart driving will achieve upgrades in perception and control with large models on board.
AI Tianji system is the industry’s first operating system that fully applies AI technology to intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving. Based on the deep application of AI large models, Xiaopeng Motors’ life assistant – AI Xiaop, will have a higher level of understanding and can significantly improve the visual perception and control ability of the AI driver in terms of AI smart driving through personalized combination of more than 100 cockpit functions. The AI driving function, based on powerful autonomous learning ability, can accurately memorize driving routes when the user manually drives. With just one learning session, the system can generate customized driving routes, providing users with intelligent assisted driving experience covering the entire journey. Each user can choose up to 10 routes, each route up to 100km long.
On May 20, AI Tianji system will fully push Pro and Max versions to cover all four models of Xiaopeng X9, G6, G9, and P7i, allowing Xiaopeng owners to “upgrade” their cars for free.
Flying cars seem to be showcased at every car show, and now they are becoming a reality. Xiaopeng has made the dream come true. At the Huixing exhibition area, Xiaopeng’s integrated land-air flying car made its debut at a major international auto show. It was announced that the “land carrier” modular flying car has passed airworthiness certification and will begin pre-sale in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Additionally, the official announcement from Xiaopeng stated that the 800kW liquid-cooled S5 ultra-fast charging will be upgraded in Q3, achieving over 1 kilometer in 1 second.
At the press conference, Xiaopeng announced a deepening of industry cooperation, signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Volkswagen Group on EEA electronic electrical architecture technology, defining the future of intelligent cars and exploring more possibilities for future travel. In addition, Xiaopeng will launch a new brand, MONA, in June, aiming to become a global pioneer in AI smart driving cars.
