On April 25, 2024, the 18th Beijing International Auto Show officially opened. BYD’s new model, the Dolphin 06 DM-i, made its debut at the show. The new car is a midsize sedan, positioned between the Destroyer 05 and the Dolphin DM-i.
The design of the Sea Lion 06DM-i continues the family’s marine aesthetic design, with a youthful and fashionable style. The car’s dimensions are 4830*1875*1495mm, with a wheelbase of 2790mm, reaching the level of mainstream mid-size cars.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts a family-style design, with more curves creating a wave-like atmosphere. Compared to previous models, the new car has a simpler design in the central control area. Physical buttons are circularly distributed around the compact gear lever. In terms of power, the Sea Lion 06DM-i will use a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 74 kW, and provide two power options of 120 kW and 160 kW for the motor and engine to form a hybrid system. According to reliable sources, the Sea Lion 06 may be equipped with BYD’s new generation DM-i super hybrid technology, expected to bring new breakthroughs in energy efficiency, with extremely low electricity consumption. The Sea Lion 06 will offer two battery versions. The model with a 10.08 kWh battery has a WLTC pure electric range of 60 km; while the model with a 15.874 kWh battery version has a WLTC pure electric range of 90 km.
