At the Beijing Auto Show opening on April 25, BYD unveiled a concept car called OCEAN-M. The new car is positioned as a two-door rear-wheel drive electric steel cannon, with the production version set to be released in the third quarter, expected to be priced between 150,000 to 200,000 yuan (27600$).
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts an oceanic aesthetic design language, with a futuristic and dynamic design. The shape is low, sleek, and the body lines are simple and stylish, highlighting its sporty and youthful attributes.
The side of the body is characterized by a clear and dynamic body movement, connecting the D-pillar and the front of the car, creating a strong downward posture to convey a sense of speed. The wheels feature a dynamic five-spoke design, exuding a strong sense of performance. OCEAN-M has a short front and rear overhang, a long wheelbase, all to create a more sporty body posture. Additionally, the display car is equipped with 20-inch wheels with a beautiful petal-shaped design, smoked black finish, and high-performance P ZERO tires for enhanced handling, with calipers in a special green design. At the rear of the car, the taillights echo the design of the front lights, with a continuous design to enhance the sense of technology. The rear wing continues the overall design style of the vehicle, combining with the high-mounted brake light in a dynamic curved edge, complementing each other. It is reported that OCEAN-M will feature a new generation of CTB battery body integration technology, a new generation of all-in-one intelligent electric drive system, iTAC intelligent torque control technology, and other technological highlights. The new car will also have both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, built on a new chassis architecture.
