On April 25, 2024, the Beijing Auto Show opened. WeRide, a global leader in developing safe and reliable autonomous driving technology, showcased four core products: WeRide L2++ production car, Robotaxi autonomous taxi, Robobus autonomous minibus, and S1 autonomous street sweeper.
Arriving at the WeRide booth, the first thing you see is the Chery Star Journey Star Era ES and ET production vehicles equipped with the WeRide and international Tier 1 Bosch’s “Bosch China Advanced Intelligent Driving Solution”.
Thanks to its extensive accumulation in full-stack algorithms, infrastructure, toolchains, and data processing, as well as its profound technical expertise and commercial experience in the field of L4 autonomous driving, Wenyuan Zhixing joined forces with the world’s largest Tier 1 Bosch in May 2022 to develop advanced intelligent driving solutions.
In just 18 months, both sides quickly mass-produced the “Bosch China Advanced Intelligent Driving Solution”. With the fusion perception of multimodal sensors and the powerful computing power of NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, the “Bosch China Advanced Intelligent Driving Solution” has fully opened up various scenarios such as driving and parking integration, providing global OEM customers with highly personalized defensive driving, multimodal dual-redundant prediction, all-scenario driving strategy planning, map-free technology solutions, high-speed & urban area end-to-end navigation assistance driving, L3 level hands-off driving assistance, APA automatic parking, and other one-stop solutions.
WeRide’s Robotaxi, the first of its kind in China, has been in commercial operation for over 1500 days without any active safety incidents since its launch in November 2019. The L4 level autonomous driving product is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and efficient driverless travel services to individual passengers. It has quickly expanded its commercial operations to Beijing, Ordos, and Abu Dhabi, UAE, after its initial launch in Guangzhou.
The first commercially operated autonomous minibus Robobus, developed by WeRide focusing on smart mobility solutions, is designed for urban open roads. Serving as a supplement to the city’s large public transportation system, it features a microcirculation bus with a fully driverless design. With WeRide’s full-stack software and hardware solutions, it can perceive surrounding road conditions 360 degrees without blind spots and efficiently handle various complex urban traffic situations. Currently, WeRide’s minibus has been operating in nearly 30 cities worldwide, including Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuxi, Nanjing, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi, serving nearly 800,000 passengers and receiving praise from users and passengers globally.
WeRide’s autonomous sweeping robot S1 is the second product in the smart sanitation field, covering all scenarios with L4 level autonomy. With industry-leading planning and control capabilities, S1 can navigate obstacles, clean various surfaces, and automatically dump garbage. It complements traditional sanitation methods, ensuring thorough cleaning without any blind spots.
According to reports, at the car show, WeRide will offer the only on-site pure visual L2++ advanced intelligent driving experience and VIP reservation test ride service.
