On April 25, 2024, at the Beijing Auto Show, Geely Galaxy unveiled the new flagship SUV – Galaxy Starship, the next generation of Shield battery safety system, Galaxy AI Digital Elf, and other latest smart technology research and development achievements of the “Smart Geely 2025” strategy. Geely Galaxy E8, as the representative of the hot-selling models, also made an appearance.
At the Geely booth at the auto show, Geely Auto Group CEO Gan Jiayue said: The “Galaxy AI Digital Elf” that can interact with AI in all scenarios will be pushed to Geely Galaxy E8 via OTA. The Galaxy AI Digital Elf can achieve AI interaction in all scenarios, interact with users in language, text, image, and video through “multi-modal AI retrieval” capability, become a considerate assistant for car owners, and continue to “grow”, further enhancing the playability and intelligence level of the Galaxy E8’s intelligent cockpit.
Geely’s latest AI achievement – the “Galaxy AI Digital Elf” that enables AI interaction in all scenarios, is Geely’s latest original technology to empower intelligent architecture for vehicle construction with AI. It will be pushed to Geely Galaxy E8 via OTA. The Galaxy AI Digital Elf can achieve AI interaction in all scenarios. Through the ability of “multi-modal AI retrieval”, it can interact with users in language, text, images, and videos, becoming a thoughtful assistant to car owners, and continuously “growing” to further enhance the intelligence, playability, and expandability of the Galaxy E8’s intelligent cockpit.
On April 15th, Geely Galaxy E8 released two versions of the Dragon Soaring Edition, with prices ranging from 160,000 to 220,000 yuan (30360$). The 620km 800V four-wheel drive Dragon Soaring Edition is priced at 215,800 yuan (29780$), making it the “Value King” among electric cars priced at around 210,000 yuan (28980$). It is the only one that has “3s-level zero to one hundred acceleration, electric four-wheel drive, 800V,” achieving higher value through “technological equality.” The 550km 400V two-wheel drive Dragon Soaring Edition is priced at 165,800 yuan (22880$), equipped with SEA architecture, 8295 chip, 45-inch 8K borderless smart screen, and a new generation of Shield battery safety system.
Geely Galaxy series continues to strengthen its presence in the mid-to-high-end new energy market, with sales surpassing 120,000 units in just 10 months. Geely Galaxy E8, in its first month on the market, surpassed models such as BYD Dolphin and Xiaopeng P7, securing a spot in the top 3 of mid-to-large-sized pure electric sedans. Cumulative deliveries in the first three months of its launch are about to exceed ten thousand units.
