Leapmotor International B.V. Officially Established by Stellantis and Leapmotor: Expanding into European Markets with Zero Run Technology

On May 14, 2024, Leapmotor International B.V. was officially established by Stellantis Group and Leapmotor, with Stellantis Group holding 51% and Leapmotor holding 49%. The joint venture is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, responsible for manufacturing and selling Leapmotor vehicles in markets outside of Greater China. Mr. Xin Tianshu from Stellantis Group’s China management team is appointed as CEO of Leapmotor International, while Leapmotor’s founder Zhu Jiangming serves as chairman.

Stellantis global CEO Carlos Tavares and Zero Run Technology founder, chairman, and CEO Zhu Jiangming Zero Run International will leverage Zero Run car platform technology, and Stellantis global sales network, service network, and production capacity resources for a strong partnership. Plans to first enter nine European countries markets in September this year, including Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, and Portugal. Covering 200 sales outlets within the Stellantis & You network, and expanding sales network to 500 outlets by 2026.

This fourth quarter, TSN entered Chile and Brazil in South America, Turkey, Israel, and French overseas territories in Central Asia and Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, and India in the Indo-Pacific region.

The first models to enter the European market are the Zero Run C10 and T03, followed by four more models in the next three years. Zhu Jiangming revealed that Zero Run Motors will launch at least six models in the next three years. Tang Wei expressed in an interview that Zero Run has strong R&D and cost advantages, which can help Stellantis achieve its environmental goals of reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2038. Zhu Jiangming praised Stellantis’ work attitude and efficiency, mentioning that in the 200 days since the announcement on October 26 last year, he has been impressed by their speed and decision-making process. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to achieve profitability and efficiency in overseas markets with the support of Stellantis.
