Before the launch, Roewe made some adjustments to the appearance of the car in four aspects to lower the selling price and create a more practical driving experience. Recently, Sina Auto was invited by SAIC Roewe to take static shots of the latest exterior details of the car.
In the competitive market of compact SUVs priced between 10-15 million yuan, SAIC Roewe D5X DMH plug-in SUV has strong product competitiveness. It features a 1.5T DMH super hybrid system, dual-motor hybrid configuration, four driving modes, long-lasting battery with 110wh/kg energy density, and Yun Su intelligent cockpit.
The powerful endurance is the highlight of this car. The Roewe D5X DMH recently completed a real endurance challenge in Hainan Island. For this appearance change, SAIC Roewe officials said it was based on practicality and cost optimization to ensure safe driving.
Optional hidden door handles are available for the all-new D5X DMH. The traditional mechanical door handles have been replaced with a simple pull action to open the door.
This change first targets cost control, secondly, the hidden door handles controlled by electronics have raised safety concerns in some past accidents. Therefore, removing the hidden door handles will not affect the basic function of opening and closing the doors.
And as a plug-in hybrid model, air resistance will not cause much energy loss. However, consumers who want to have hidden door handles can choose to equip Roewe D5X DMH. This will further reduce aerodynamic drag and improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance on the basis of simplifying the design with electrification.
2. Optional one-piece through long lamp, the new D5X DMH keeps the overall vehicle design unchanged, with the LED daytime running lights removed from the headlights, but both headlight configurations remain consistent, both with daily LED headlights.
High-end models are equipped with IHC intelligent high and low beam system, which can control the vehicle’s high and low beams intelligently by sensing the traffic conditions ahead through the onboard camera. When there are no oncoming vehicles or pedestrians in front, the IHC system will automatically turn on the high beams to provide better road lighting. Once a vehicle is detected in front or approaching at a close distance, the system will automatically switch to low beams to avoid dazzling other road users and improve driving safety. This configuration can also be optional, but in terms of practicality, LED headlights that run through the front of the vehicle can cause higher repair costs in collisions. Moreover, the side light sources already have sufficient width illumination capabilities. Although it can be optional, most consumers are unlikely to choose it.

The center console features a 24.6-inch dual-screen display, powered by a MediaTek 2712 chip. It runs the Zebra Intelligent Driving System, allowing seamless transition between phone and car navigation, dynamic navigation, and smart entertainment space.
And with 540° panoramic imaging, combined with transparent chassis, it can transmit real-time road conditions, fully capturing safety hazards.
