On May 23, Lantu Motors announced the launch of their new model, Lantu FREE 318. The upgraded model features improvements in appearance, range, performance, intelligence, and safety. The core feature is its pure electric range of 318km, making it the longest range hybrid SUV on the market. Lantu FREE 318 will start pre-sale on May 30, and is expected to be a dark horse in the hybrid SUV market this year.
In terms of appearance, the Lantu FREE 318 has been refreshed and upgraded. The front face, following the design concept of sharp mech armor, is full of tension, and the family-style flying wing-shaped light strip is highly recognizable. On the side of the car body, the distinct and angular lines create excellent light and shadow effects, with a dynamic and low-profile posture. The anti-gravity tail wing at the rear, whether in terms of external dynamic visual effects or internal enhancement of overall vehicle stability, has a good effect and enhances the driver’s confidence. At the same time, Lantu has also created an exclusive “Titanium Crystal Gray” car paint for the Lantu FREE 318, which gives a sense of high quality and highlights a rational, mature, inclusive, and generous taste. The most significant improvement of the Lantu FREE 318 this time is the performance of pure electric endurance. The new car’s pure electric endurance reaches 318km, making it the longest pure electric endurance mileage among hybrid SUVs. The comprehensive endurance also reaches 1458km, allowing for daily commuting using pure electric power and long-distance travel with a combination of oil and electricity, completely eliminating range anxiety. The Lantu FREE 318 is equipped with an amber battery system with a capacity of 43kWh, a 10% increase compared to the current Lantu FREE. Additionally, the Lantu FREE 318 also uses Lantu’s self-developed efficient electric drive system, with an 8-layer Hair-Pin motor achieving a slot filling rate of up to 70%. With the application of ultra-thin silicon steel sheets and low eddy current loss technology, the electric drive efficiency can exceed 90%, resulting in excellent energy consumption performance for the vehicle.
