Toyota hints at the possibility of launching an automatic transmission version of the GR Corolla in the future to meet market demand. Toyota insiders have previously suggested that more than usual customers choose automatic transmission versions when buying the GR86 and SUPRA. Therefore, Toyota’s GR performance department also suggests that launching an automatic transmission version of the GR Corolla is not out of the question if there is market demand.

Toyota’s GR Performance Division developed the high-performance GR Corolla based on the Corolla hatchback, adding sporty elements for a more aggressive look. The current GR Corolla is available in Core and Circuit versions, both equipped with a 1.6T engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of design, the GR Corolla is built on the GA-C upgrade platform with additional welding points on the frame to enhance rigidity.
