On May 28, the new Porsche 911 made its global debut with minor design changes. The GTS model now features the T-Hybrid ultra-lightweight high-performance hybrid system. The event showcased two cars: the 911 Carrera Cabriolet and the 911 Carrera GTS.
The new 911 features optimized exterior design, improved aerodynamic performance, new interior, and expanded standard features. The Cabriolet now offers optional matrix high-resolution LED headlights, each with 32,000 pixels, illuminating distances over 600 meters and featuring continuous taillights. In terms of power, the Cabriolet has 394 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, or 3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono package, reaching a top speed of 294 km/h.
The interior features a more digital design. It comes with a new 12.6-inch curved LCD instrument panel, start-stop button, and driving mode dial. The GTS model inherits the typical sporty style and uses Race-Tex fabric.
The GTS model is the first production model of the 911 to be equipped with the ultra-lightweight high-performance hybrid system – T-Hybrid. The core of this system is the newly developed 3.6-liter horizontally opposed engine, with an integrated electric motor in both the new 8-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission and the newly developed electric wastegate turbocharger. The engine alone produces 485 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque, with a total system output of 541 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque.
The GTS is equipped with an active intake system. It has 10 vertically arranged active cooling air flow plates at the front. It has a 0-100 acceleration of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.
Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister drove the 911 Carrera GTS at the Nürburgring Nordschleife to set a lap time of 7 minutes 16.934 seconds, 8.7 seconds faster than the previous model.
