According to GAC Toyota’s official Weibo account, Toyota China issued a statement on June 3 regarding certification application issues in the Japanese market, expressing sincere apologies for concerns raised by customers due to non-compliant certification applications for some Toyota vehicles. The statement confirmed that the models sold in the Chinese market by FAW Toyota, GAC Toyota, and Lexus are not related to this incident, and the relevant certification tests were completed under the supervision and guidance of Chinese regulatory authorities, in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations, with no safety or quality issues.
