On June 7, 2024, at the ongoing 2024 Chongqing Auto Show, the second generation AION V from Aiways officially debuted, positioned as a new hardcore smart driving SUV. The official stated that it combines 23 groundbreaking technologies from Aiways and is a globally customized model for users.
In terms of appearance, the design style of the second generation AION V draws inspiration from the DNA of the Tyrannosaurus rex, using original “ecological functionality” design language to integrate power, technology, and emotion. The overall style is also tough, with plenty of straight lines outlining the vehicle, giving it a commanding presence like a Tyrannosaurus rex. The front headlights feature vertical daytime running lights, officially referred to as cyber dragon claw design.
The body side lines are concise, maximizing interior space. The dimensions of the new car are 4605/1854/1660mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2775mm.
The rear style of the car follows a simple and strong design, with a rounded yet angular look. The large rear wing and sharp lines add to the overall sense of power. The new taillights echo the front headlights, with a vertical layout similar to the dragon claw headlights. In terms of interior, the second generation AION V features the self-evolving AI cockpit, equipped with the ADiGO SENSE AI large model that can accurately meet different needs and continue to evolve. The large model also shares the innovative “in-car education expert” from iFlytek.
Thanks to the all-new AEP pure electric digital platform, the new car achieves a 20% increase in interior space utilization. In the cabin, the front seats can be automatically folded flat with the touch of a button, creating a 6-meter large flat floor, while the rear seats can also recline to 137°. It is equipped with a smart cooling and heating refrigerator with a temperature range from -15°C to 50°C, a Belgian Primium9 speaker “high-end audio room”, four-zone voice interaction, a large central control screen, and VtoL external audio playback function. In terms of intelligent driving, the second generation AION V is equipped with the ADiGO PILOT intelligent driving system, featuring the leading Orin X chip, laser radar, advanced AI algorithms, and industry-first self-learning navigation technology. It can accurately perceive the environment in all directions without relying on high-precision maps, enabling advanced intelligent driving such as urban NDA, highway NDA, and one-key remote parking.
In terms of endurance, the new car achieves an international wide-temperature range of 750km, stable operation from -30℃ to 55℃, and a 50% reduction in air conditioning energy consumption. In terms of replenishing energy, the new car for the first time applies silicon carbide to mainstream 400V vehicle platforms, reducing charging time by 60%, and replenishing 370km in 15 minutes. In terms of safety, the second generation AION V is equipped with the second generation magazine battery, which does not catch fire when shot. The magazine battery has been used by nearly one million users, with zero spontaneous combustion incidents to date.
