If you ask about the recommended 200,000-level, five-seat SUV in joint venture, I think Buick Enclave must have a place. This car has won the recognition and trust of many consumers since its launch due to its high cost performance. Recently, we had the opportunity to test drive the all-new generation Buick Enclave Plus. Let’s see how this car performs overall.
In terms of appearance, the all-new Buick Enclave Plus features a new family design language, including split-style headlights, which gives it a more modern look compared to current models. The turn signal lights are integrated into the headlight assembly, meeting modern aesthetic demands.
The front bumper uses a trapezoidal grille, decorated with multiple chrome strips for a three-dimensional and layered look. L-shaped chrome strips are added on both sides of the grille, with additional chrome strips at the bottom, enhancing the overall sense of quality.
The side profile of the vehicle showcases the grand and majestic style of American SUVs. With dimensions of 4822x1883x1695mm and a wheelbase of 2833mm, the car offers excellent space. Diverse lines and chrome trims adorn the windows and lower doors.
The new car will feature 20-inch multi-spoke wheel design paired with 245/45 R20 tires for both performance and comfort. All four door handles are equipped with keyless entry buttons for easy access. The version we test drove today is the Avia, which has a separate emblem on the front door.
The design of the rear end is stylish and youthful, especially with the transparent LED taillights that light up brightly. The middle section features a large chrome trim and the “BUICK” logo.
The rear bumper features a dual-tone color scheme, with a chrome trim running through the middle, enhancing the overall look of the vehicle. The dual exhaust layout on both sides adds a touch of aggression, while the reverse light and rear fog light in the middle provide practicality.
The interior design has undergone significant changes, appearing more futuristic overall, especially with the 30-inch curved 6K screen that can accommodate more functions, similar to Buick E5. Additionally, there are more color options for the interior, such as the blue and white interior we have today, giving a more upscale look.
The all-new Buick Enclave Plus features a traditional round steering wheel with physical multi-function buttons to prevent accidental operation. It is also equipped with paddle shifters and additional buttons for volume and song control. Buick has maintained this unique configuration for many years.
Because of the integrated screen, there is no gap between the instrument panel and the central control screen, creating a strong overall feeling. The information displayed on the instrument panel is clear and direct, without excessive background decoration. The headlight control of the vehicle is conveniently located at the top left corner of the screen for easy operation.
The central control screen will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, providing fast processing speed. The UI design is user-friendly and tailored to our driving habits, making it easy to find the desired functions quickly.
The screen integrates more functions, including online navigation, entertainment, phone connectivity, voice interaction, OTA upgrades, and control of air conditioning, seats, and vehicle lights. In addition, the control and settings of the vehicle’s intelligent driving assistance system are also placed on the screen, making operation very convenient.
In addition to the screen, the all-new Buick Enclave Plus retains the air conditioning control buttons below, allowing for quick operation. The overall practicality and convenience are also very high.
The all-new Buick Enclave Plus will use a knob-shifting method, saving a lot of space in the central channel. The knob also includes many safety settings. To shift into drive or reverse, simply lift the knob forward to avoid any possible mistakes.
Below the steering wheel are physical buttons for controlling the handbrake, driving mode, and start-stop function. The trunk switch remains on the driver’s door panel.
The seating comfort of the all-new Buick Enclave Plus is excellent, with great lumbar and leg support. Additionally, the seats also feature a vibration alert system to warn the driver of potential dangers, such as approaching vehicles from behind.
The car currently only comes in a 5-seat version, so the second row seating space is impressive. The seat cushions are thick and the backrest angle has been optimized to meet the needs of more consumers. The floor of the car has also been partially optimized to be lower, providing a better seating experience for rear passengers.
The all-new Buick Enclave Plus will use the 8th generation Ecotec 2.0T variable cylinder turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 174kW and maximum torque of 350N·m, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 48V mild hybrid system, 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8.1 seconds.
When we drove the car on the road, our first impression was light. Despite being a mid-sized SUV, both the steering wheel and accelerator pedal felt very agile. With just a slight press on the gas pedal, the car responded quickly. The 9-speed automatic transmission made the acceleration process even smoother.
This car offers multiple driving modes to choose from. In sport mode, the vehicle accelerates more aggressively. Paired with paddle shifters, this SUV drives like a sedan. Additionally, it is equipped with a HUD for improved driving safety.
In terms of chassis, the overall tuning of the all-new Buick Enclave Plus will be more sporty, with a slightly firm suspension. The rebound control is very good, and there is not too much bouncing feeling inside the car, especially when going over speed bumps and rough roads.
In terms of quietness, the performance of the all-new Buick Enclave Plus in the 200,000-level SUV is commendable. The control of wind and tire noise is well done, allowing for normal conversation inside the car even when the speed reaches 100 km/h, without a significant increase in noise. Summary: Although most vehicles are now entering the era of new energy, as a traditional fuel vehicle, its retention and recognition are still better. The all-new Buick Enclave Plus accurately captures this point, with more stylish features, trendy appearance, and practical space, creating another new benchmark for 200,000-level fuel SUVs.
