Only when you truly own an MPV, will you understand why it is the king of long-distance travel. It is loved by business people and increasingly favored by large families. There is a saying, “The ultimate car for a dad is an MPV.” The SAIC Maxus D90 Super Hybrid Long-range version we test drove not only has a high room rate and exquisite interior decoration, but also with the blessing of ACIS intelligent full-scene super hybrid technology, it has excellent low energy consumption and quiet and smooth driving characteristics, making it the choice for big businessmen, big families, and big travelers. The exterior is grand enough.
SAIC Maxus vehicles have always been known for their rugged and imposing appearance, whether it’s the MPV series, pickup series, or RV system. The Maxus Euniq 9 Hybrid naturally inherits the “big guy” DNA, with its large overall vehicle design and size giving you plenty of presence.
The front design features a surround LED light strip, along with large headlights on both sides, greatly expanding the visual width and impact. The closed grille and oversized air intake grille are futuristic and sporty. In addition, the front face also offers two styles to choose from: “Star River Bright” and “Wings of Light”, one leaning towards fashion and technology, the other more imposing.
On the side, the JAC i9 Hybrid presents a sturdy and stable body profile, with straight and elegant lines. The waistline extends from the front fender to the rear of the car, and the straight roofline helps optimize the interior seating experience. The A/B/C/D pillars are designed in black, creating a hidden style. In terms of body size, the JAC i9 Hybrid measures 5270/2000/1848mm in length/width/height, with a wheelbase of 3200mm.
Everyone’s 9 Super Hybrid uses Michelin EC6 low rolling resistance tires, sized 235/55 R19. The tire’s structure allows for more responsive handling on different road conditions. With minimal tire deformation and reduced heat loss, rolling resistance is lowered during vehicle operation.
The rear design of the 9 Super Hybrid is eye-catching, with tail lights inspired by concept cars and featuring a wrap-around design. The overall visual effect is sharp and distinct. Additionally, a small spoiler is installed at the top of the rear, adding a touch of sportiness to the vehicle.
The interior features high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship.
The interior design of the Geely Xingyue L adopts a simple yet sophisticated approach, with clean lines that enhance the sense of space. It features a three-screen layout, including a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a 12.3-inch central control screen, and a 12.3-inch co-pilot screen. The co-pilot screen can also display navigation information and be dragged to the central display screen for easy viewing by the driver.
Everyone’s 9 Super Hybrid has natural semantic recognition, allowing voice control of functions such as air conditioning, music, navigation, and windows. The central screen and passenger screen can achieve scene modes, Bluetooth headphones, phone projection, member care, passenger map, DingTalk video conferencing, entertainment, and more. Equipped with DMS driver biometric recognition system, a 200W pixel camera is installed on the inside of the left A-pillar. When using facial recognition for the first time, users need to actively register facial information. When the vehicle door is opened, the facial recognition function is triggered. After the driver enters and sits in the car, facial recognition is done seamlessly. Once recognized, the facial information is automatically logged into the bound account. Additionally, the DMS system can monitor the driver’s state, estimating fatigue level based on common behaviors like yawning and closing eyes. If the threshold is exceeded, the driver will be reminded to rest.
Everyone can control the air conditioning in the car through the touch screen, which also has physical touch bars for setting the air conditioning and other common functions such as rear windshield heating, making it more convenient and responsive.
Everyone in the 9 Plus is equipped with wireless charging for mobile phones, but testing with Huawei phones shows that super fast charging rates cannot be achieved. Fortunately, there are many 12V power outlets in the car, so you can buy a car charger for fast charging, which is very practical.
The second row of the 9 Super Hybrid has 220V power outlets, making it more convenient for digital devices with higher power consumption.
Everyone in the first and second rows of the 9 Super Mix has double-layered laminated glass, which blocks out most of the outside noise. Whether in the noisy city traffic or speeding on the highway, the environmental noise and wind noise control are ideal, creating a very quiet interior environment. Each seat is VIP.
The front seats of the 9 Super Mix are very thick, with wide cushions and backrests made of leather. They have heating/ventilation and massage functions, providing the same comfort as the second row.
Everyone in the second row of the 9 Super Mix adopted two independent first-class seats, with thick and soft cushions and backrests. The seats provide good support for the thighs, waist, shoulders, neck, and head through ergonomic design. When adjusted to a half-reclining position, the entire body can relax fully. In addition, the seats also have ventilation/heating/massage functions. The higher-end models are equipped with even more comfortable space capsule seats.
The third-row seats are also “sofa seats”, with thick and soft cushions and backrests that can be adjusted to a semi-reclining position, a rare treat for third-row passengers.
The model is 175cm tall and has ample headroom after adjusting the front seat position.
Adjust the second row legroom to at least two fists or more. If it feels too small, the second row can be further adjusted backwards.
The second row has a 220mm central aisle for easy access for third-row passengers.
Thanks to the 9-seater layout and 5.2 meters in length, the second and third row seats of the car are very flexible. The legroom in the third row is almost the same as the second row when the seats are slid back. The headroom is also very spacious.
Based on the position of the third-row seats, the trunk volume ranges from 1010.5-2179L. The third-row seats support 4/6 split folding, further enhancing practicality.
Smooth power delivery, low fuel consumption.
This test drive is the Geely Geometry A Pro long-range version, equipped with a 24.7kWh lithium iron phosphate power battery, with a pure electric range of 115km. Before departure, the display shows a pure electric range of 91km, a fuel range of 566km, and a total range of 657km. After driving 81km in “pure electric priority” mode, the pure electric range is 0km, the fuel range is 488km, the average electricity consumption per 100km is 18.4kWh, the average fuel consumption is 1.4L, and the fuel consumption per 100km is 7.3L.
This test drive covered a total of 166km, with a displayed comprehensive range of 488km, a decrease of 169km compared to the total range of 657km before departure, indicating that the energy consumption estimate of the 9 Super Hybrid is quite accurate. The first 80 kilometers of this test drive were pure electric driving, while the rest used the “intelligent hybrid” mode. The average fuel consumption after conversion is 7.7L/100km, which is completely acceptable for such a large MPV. In addition, the official claim for the long-range version of the 9 Super Hybrid is a full fuel and full electric range of up to 1309km, with WLTC fuel consumption as low as 6.5L/100km.
The BYD Tang 9 PHEV has a parking charging function. It can reach a maximum charging power of 14.5kW, equivalent to two home chargers. Actual maximum charging power can reach 15.2kW. We tested this function and charged the battery from 0% to 24% in 40 minutes. With continuous parking charging, 5 minutes of charging can restore 10% of the battery.
The TSN style rewrite of the text is as follows: Everyone 9 Super Hybrid adopts ACIS intelligent full-scene super hybrid technology, capable of achieving pure electric, series, series-parallel, engine direct drive, kinetic energy recovery and other power flow modes, with “pure electric priority”, “intelligent hybrid”, “forced power protection” three driving modes. In pure electric priority, the engine will only start to provide additional power after the accelerator pedal has passed the 95% threshold, that is to say, as much as possible to use electric drive in pure electric mode. With a 176kW/390N·m P3 motor, it can fully meet the power needs for acceleration and high-speed cruising. From the actual driving experience, in pure electric mode, as long as the accelerator pedal is not fully pressed, the engine will not intervene at all, and pure electric can accelerate continuously to 130km/h.
Everyone uses a 1.5T hybrid engine with a high thermal efficiency of 43%, rated power of 110kW, and maximum torque of 235N·m. When the engine kicks in, there is almost no noticeable vibration or noise, no hesitation, and the power output remains smooth and strong like in pure electric mode.
In terms of actual driving experience, the power performance of the N9 hybrid is excellent. The high-power electric motor can instantly burst out strong torque output, with linear acceleration and abundant power. The engine mostly plays a supporting role, without any obvious extra power surge when it intervenes, focusing on smoothness.
The overall driving feel of the 9 Supermix is very good, thanks to the rare rear multi-link independent suspension in the same class MPV, the whole vehicle feels upscale when driving, the suspension tuning is comfortable but also has good support when cornering quickly.
In terms of noise control, the 9 Super Mix performed very well. While driving at high speeds, we tested the noise levels in the front row, second row, and third row. The overall noise control in the vehicle was consistent and good. There were no noticeable resonant sounds or significant wind and road noise inside the car.
SAIC Datong’s Jiayue 9 Super Hybrid was officially launched on June 7th, with a price range of 26.99-34.99 million yuan. The long-range version is equipped with a 24.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a pure electric range of 115km under the CLTC standard. The ultra-long-range version is equipped with a 39.7kWh high-energy density ternary lithium battery, providing a pure electric range of 225km under the CLTC standard. Personally, I think the ultra-long-range version is more suitable for large family users, as it offers longer pure electric driving range, lower travel costs, and better overall range, making it ideal for long-distance travel.
The 9 Plus excels in spaciousness, VIP seating for 7, smooth and powerful performance, and long-lasting battery life, making it competitive in its class. Choose the 9 Plus, you can’t go wrong.
