On June 13, 2024, the Deep Blue G318 held a listing conference in Lhasa. Five configurations were announced, ranging in price from 17.59 million to 22.99 million yuan. The entry-level version is expected to start delivery in mid-August, while other versions will be delivered immediately upon listing. It was also announced that the worry-free crossover version will be launched in early 2025, with an estimated price of 31.8 million yuan. Additionally, nine major car purchase packages were launched.
The appearance of the deep blue G318 is characterized by a square box shape with small rounded corners, exuding a strong sense of power. The front face features a grille-less design with a C-shaped headlight cluster in a futuristic style. The rear door opens sideways with an attached “small backpack”. The overall design is known as “cyber metal”, resembling an aluminum-magnesium alloy laptop with CNC integrated cutting.
The new car is positioned as a large SUV, with dimensions of 5010/1985/1960mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2880mm. The approach/departure angles are 27°/31°, the ramp breakover angle is 27.3°, the minimum ground clearance is 210mm, and the air suspension version reaches 240mm. To highlight its off-road capabilities and personalization, the Deep Blue G318 comes with a variety of modification options. Only the four-wheel drive version is qualified to tow up to 1.6 tons, and the roof rack with spotlights is included in the top configuration, while other features are optional.
The interior design continues the tough style of the whole car, the center console takes a delicate route, using a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch center screen, and matching rose gold in many places to create a good sense of luxury.
Equipped with the Blue Whale extended-range power system, the single-motor version has a maximum power of 185kW; the four-wheel drive version has a front motor maximum power of 131kW, a rear motor maximum power of 185kW, and a total system power of 316kW, with acceleration times of 8.6 seconds and 6.3 seconds respectively for 0-100km/h, using a 35.07-degree battery except for the base version. Supports V2V and V2L with a maximum external power output of 6kW, but the external power cord needs to be purchased separately. Using a load-bearing body, with double wishbone + multi-link independent suspension, the four-wheel drive has a central infinite differential lock and a magnetic suction rear mechanical differential lock, with the high-end version having Magic Carpet + CDC + air suspension. At the press conference, Deep Blue CEO Deng Chenghao stated that the Deep Blue G318 focuses on four major revolutions: new design, new energy consumption, new space, and new comfort, addressing the traditional hardcore “four major pain points,” allowing users to enjoy the most comfortable city travel experience while also getting the best outdoor travel experience, without feeling pressured by vehicle costs while happily standing out.
