The event featured two tested vehicles. The first one underwent a rollover test, with the body on the left and the chassis and power system on the right. It rolled down from the top of the desert, 104 meters high, and rolled 26 laps in total, covering a distance of 226 meters. This high-intensity rolling scene corresponds to common dangerous situations for off-road vehicles, such as rolling in the desert or climbing extreme terrains.
After rolling, the test vehicle’s body structure remains intact, with visible impacts on the A-pillar, B-pillar, C-pillar, but overall integrity and protection are still good, interior space not significantly compromised, all doors can open normally.
This is the chassis of the test vehicle, where the beams are in good condition. There are no visible damage or deformation. The engine, gearbox, driveshaft, front and rear suspension, and fuel tank are all in good condition.
The second test involved three extreme collisions: a 1-ton blade falling from a height of 10 meters, a 1-ton blade hitting the side of the car, and a 18-meter free fall followed by a roll upon landing. The main feature of this test is the high-intensity impact with a small contact area, which results in greater force on the impact point. After the two impacts, the car frame was further impacted by a 18-meter free fall and roll, simulating another impact on the injured frame.
From the current state of the test vehicle, the body structure has withstood the test, the survival space inside the car is intact. Despite the deformation in the middle of the roof and injury to the B-pillar, the doors can still open normally. The overall performance is commendable. The subsequent rollover test demonstrated that the new BJ40 Dagger Hero Edition can still provide good protection after the frame is subjected to strong impact, passing the test of an 18-meter high-altitude rollover. In addition, the all-new BJ40 Blade Hero Edition’s doors feature built-in hot-formed anti-collision beams with a thickness of 1.4mm and a tensile strength of 1300 MPa. This provides side protection and reduces door deformation in collisions, ensuring that the doors can open normally after an accident, allowing occupants to escape quickly and avoid further injury.
Furthermore, the new BJ40 Hero Edition features a non-load-bearing body structure, which includes a one-piece longitudinal and eight-piece transverse beam + integral rear axle structure, reducing the impact on the body and resisting torsional deformation in off-road scenarios.
In addition to the above macro points, the connection of various parts of the all-new BJ40 Dagger Hero Edition also uses many reinforced processes, such as upgrading high-strength steel from B510L to QSTE550, increasing yield strength by 55%, and two sleeve structures at the A-pillar and C-pillar positions, allowing the steel pipe to be closely connected to the body; the connection of the built-in roll cage and B-pillar, in addition to spot welding, also uses brazing. As a hardcore player, the all-new BJ40 Dagger Hero Edition adopts dual protective measures at the bottom of the body, improving chassis flatness, while effectively protecting the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, transfer case, and other key mechanical parts, eliminating the hassle of later modifications for users.
