On June 27th, Changan Lumin launched the Orange Wind Edition/Sailing Edition to celebrate its two-year anniversary. The new models have improved configurations with two different ranges: 205km and 301km. The starting price for the 205km Orange Wind Edition/Sailing Edition is 50,900 yuan (7000$), while the 301km version is priced at 57,900 yuan (7970$).
In 2023, Changan Lumin sold over 140,000 units, with a total of over 200,000 users. This year, Changan Lumin has sold over 60,000 units, approaching the milestone of 300,000 units. To show gratitude for user support on the 2nd anniversary of its launch, Changan Lumin is introducing the Orange Wind Edition and the Voyage Edition. From June 27 to July 31, customers who order the Orange Wind/Voyage Edition can enjoy a double deposit refund of 520 yuan (70$); for an additional 588 yuan (80$), they can receive a 3.5kw charging pile worth 2558 yuan (350$). Customers do not need to worry about the depreciation of the car value, as they can enjoy the manufacturer’s three-year premium repurchase right of 5000 yuan (690$) and other preferential policies such as 0 down payment and 0 interest on all models.
In addition, the new car also has three custom gifts. The first one is a free exclusive custom package: providing exclusive custom headrests, exclusive custom storage boxes, and an exclusive custom metal plaque. The second one is a free choice of personalized car stickers: the Orange Wind Edition also comes with three custom car clothes to choose from: cute wind, dopamine wind, and trendy wind. The third one is a free upgrade to a dual-color body: the Orange Wind Edition is upgraded to a dual-color body different from the regular version, with a floating cool black roof paired with 5 kinds of colorful paint, full of fashion and futuristic sense.
Changan Lumin is built on the new EPA0 electric platform, positioned as a pure electric microcar. The exterior design is youthful and incorporates more circular elements. The overall shape is simple and sleek, with rounded lines. The front and rear lights are circular, with silver decorations on the front lights resembling eyebrows. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3270/1700/1545mm with a wheelbase of 1980mm, making it larger in size. The 2+2 seating layout and 104L trunk space, which can be expanded to 580L, provide ample space for daily use.
In terms of interior, Changan Lumin’s center console design is inspired by jewelry boxes, with smooth lines matching the exterior. The interior is designed with a feminine touch, featuring orange accents for a vibrant atmosphere. The console is equipped with a 10.25-inch multimedia display screen, offering practical functions like navigation, voice assistant, and smart connectivity, which requires a phone connection to operate.
In terms of configuration, the Orange Edition upgrades the “Heart-Orange Thinking” optional package to standard. It also comes with electronic handbrake & rear disc brakes. The Launch Edition focuses on intelligent and convenient smart driving experience, equipped with keyless entry + one-button start, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, smart key fob, and electrically retractable door handles. In terms of power, the new car still uses a 35kW motor, with battery capacities of 17.65kWh and 28.08kWh, CLTC range of 205km and 301km. For the chassis, the new car adopts front MacPherson, rear torsion spring integral bridge suspension.
