On June 28, 2024, Zero Run C16 was officially launched. The new car is a new model under the Zero Run LEAP 3.0 technology architecture, equipped with a clover central integrated electronic electrical architecture, Snapdragon 8295 cockpit, and laser radar, with advanced driver assistance functions. The new car is based on an 800V high-voltage platform, with CTC 2.0 battery chassis integration technology, high-performance oil-cooled electric drive, and optional pure electric and extended-range hybrid systems. The extended-range model has a pure electric range of 200km and a low charge fuel consumption of 5.4L/100km. Positioned as a mid-to-large six-seat SUV, officially defined as “MPSUV”, a combination of SUV and MPV. The new car offers 6 models to choose from, with prices ranging from 15.58 to 18.58 million yuan.
The models under the Zero Run flag adhere to a very pure internal and external design concept. Multiple models use a consistent design language with slight differences in body details and dimensions. The Zero Run C16 also follows this concept, adopting the latest family-style exterior design language. Its overall shape is simple, similar to the design style of the C10, with rounded lines and a strong sense of technology. In terms of exterior colors, the Zero Run C16 offers six colors to meet the personalized needs of different consumers: Starlight Silver, Starlight Purple, Sky Grey, Pearl White, Metal Black, and Glass Green.
In the front, the Zero Run C16 features a closed grille with sharp LED headlights on both sides. The bright black trim connects the two headlights. The rectangular intake grille on the bumper is well-shaped, giving a more stable feel. The overall shape of the headlights still follows the family style, and the addition of the strip light further enhances recognition.
The side profile of the Lixiang C16 is very square and sturdy, with a strong sense of volume. The sleek black window frames and exterior mirrors, along with hidden door handles, add a touch of fashion. The dimensions of the new car are 4915/1950/1770mm, with a wheelbase of 2825mm, making it the largest model in the Lixiang brand’s lineup.
Arriving at the rear of the new car, the tail design is simple and modern. The slender LED tail lights are distinctive when lit up. The rear spoiler and darkened lower bumper enhance the visual appeal of the rear end.
In terms of interior, the Zero C16 continues to use a family-style layout design. The T-shaped center console is equipped with a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating center screen and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel. The steering wheel adopts a double-spoke flat-bottom design, and the physical buttons on it have been optimized, with a rotary gear shift. The interior color scheme continues to follow a warm home route, with the designer using a combination of materials such as leather and soft plastic trim to bring a certain sense of luxury. In terms of interior themes, the new car offers three styles including Malt Rice, Chixia Orange, and Xingyuan Purple.
In the car system, the zero-run C16 introduces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 smart cockpit, equipped with Leapmotor OS smart car system, in addition to the common car networking functions, it also supports dual-zone voice wake-up recognition, visible speech, 5G network, OTA upgrade, in-car KTV, and remote control via mobile app.
In terms of intelligent driving, the Zero Run C16 is equipped with the NVIDIA Orin-X chip, with a computing power of 254 TOPS, and 30 intelligent driving sensors, including 1 lidar, 5 mm-wave radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. It supports highway navigation assistance functions, such as automatic lane change, automatic parking, etc.
The Zero Run C16 seats are covered in high-quality leather, ensuring a luxurious visual effect while providing a good seating feel. The seats feature integrated suspended headrests. The Zero Run C16 is designed with a 6-seat layout, with a 2+2+2 arrangement. The second row has two independent seats, with a 7-layer comfortable fabric design and a 145-degree reclining backrest. The official statement claimed that the entire cabin can comfortably accommodate “6 Shandong big men.”
In terms of cabin comfort, the car is equipped with features such as heated/ventilated front and rear seats, second-row right side table, 21-speaker audio system, 360-degree panoramic camera, dual-layer soundproof glass for the first and second rows, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, rear privacy glass, and three-zone independent air conditioning. The car also has a spacious cabin with a 10066 square centimeter large side window. Additionally, it offers a rare feature in its class – a foldable entertainment screen on the ceiling of the first and second rows.
The third row still maintains good space comfort, with a seat height of 350mm, a cushion depth of 460mm, a thickness of 124mm, and a backrest that can be adjusted 10 degrees. The footrest is designed for “high driving control” and the headroom is sufficient. It is equipped with functions such as a phone charging port and cup holders.
In terms of the battery, the Zero Run C16 is equipped with a 28.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a pure electric range of 200km under CLTC conditions and a total range of 1095km. The pure electric model is powered by a 215 kW electric motor and a 67.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a pure electric range of 520km under CLTC conditions. The battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
