Stellantis to Expand Hybrid Car Lineup in Europe: Global Automotive News

In June this year, Stellantis said its electric vehicle sales have remained stable since early 2024, despite weak global demand. The focus is on mild hybrid cars with 48V low-voltage battery packs, dual-clutch automatic transmissions, and enhanced brake energy recovery systems. Christian Müller, Stellantis’ Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, said that mild hybrid systems can reduce costs and achieve similar CO2 emissions reductions compared to high-voltage hybrid systems. Stellantis’ plug-in hybrid technology offers an 80 km range, while the economy hybrid mode can reach 1 km in pure electric mode.
