Do you remember when the TSL6 was launched, multiple cities already had the NOA city navigation assistance feature activated. At the press conference, it was promised that more cities would have the NOA feature by the end of the year. Keeping the promise, the NOA feature is now available in Beijing. Let’s experience it firsthand to see how well it works.
The newly launched NOA function in Beijing covers the entire city, allowing navigation in urban areas, highways, and rural roads. To activate it, simply set the navigation and shift the gear lever down twice.
The driving experience was rich, including city streets, highways, roundabouts, intersections, and small roads. The navigation function can identify the current lane, surrounding vehicles, and speed limits on city streets. It can always stay in the middle of the lane.
If there is traffic congestion ahead or approaching an intersection, vehicles can gently decelerate and automatically come to a stop. Once the vehicle ahead starts moving, our smart L6 can also accelerate quickly without any manual operation.
When the vehicle detects other lanes moving quickly or not congested at the intersection, it will quickly react by turning on the turn signal and alerting us through the screen and sound. The vehicle will merge smoothly, and we just need to observe.
Besides vehicles automatically choosing lanes, we can also use a light flick of the turn signal to achieve automatic lane changing. As long as there is a safe distance behind, the Zhiji L6 can complete the lane change in about 2 seconds. Additionally, when we are about to turn at the next intersection, the vehicle will also merge into the left or right lane in advance to avoid missing the intersection.
During our test drive, the vehicle made many left and right turns. When making a left turn, the car recognized the waiting area and stopped to wait for the traffic light. When making a right turn, the car constantly monitored the surrounding bicycles and pedestrians. If anyone wanted to pass, the car immediately stopped and waited until it was safe to proceed through the intersection.
In addition, when vehicles detect a bus lane ahead, they will merge into the regular lane to avoid fines, regardless of the time. Yellow lane lines on the screen and voice prompts will explain the lane change to the driver.
However, we also found some shortcomings during the test drive, such as when navigating through complex intersections or unclear road markings, the vehicle may feel a bit lost. It does not slow down or stop at intersections, but maintains current path and speed until it rediscovers lane markings, then promptly returns to the lane and continues the navigation assistance function.
If a vehicle suddenly cuts in or crosses the line, the Zhi Ji L6 can detect it immediately and slow down in time, ensuring safety for passengers and vehicles. Additionally, if we don’t touch the steering wheel for a long time, the vehicle will give visual and auditory alerts.
As a feature of NOA, vehicles can be used on rural roads as long as the navigation shows it is possible. The vehicle will navigate based on the information from the navigation and cameras to assist in guiding.
Apart from the city map NOA upgrade this time, the original high-speed navigation function can also be used normally. Many owners who have used this function are familiar with it. This function can not only control the speed and lane on the highway, but also complete the ramp and change of high speed by themselves, making highway driving easier and safer.
Finally, let’s take a simple look back at the exterior and interior design of the Zhi Ji L6. The Zhi Ji L6 will adopt a family-style exterior design, with the headlight design still using the L-shaped water droplet style. Although there is no through-style design, the overall recognition is still very high. The front bumper uses a closed design, which is also a unique design feature of new energy vehicles.
The side of the body retains a streamlined design, with rounded shapes giving the car a more stylish look. Hidden door handles reduce wind resistance, while multi-spoke wheels and red brake calipers highlight the sporty nature of the car.
The rear of the car has a smart style, especially the taillights. The taillights have a large area design with a small display screen in the middle. When we activate the city navigation assistance, the screen will show text to inform vehicles behind us that we are using the navigation function to drive the car.
The interior design reflects technology and fashion, especially the half-width steering wheel and large connected screens, giving a feeling of driving a future warship. This meets the aesthetic needs of young consumers.
Most vehicle functions are integrated on the central console screen, making it easy to operate for both the driver and the passenger. This includes air conditioning, seat adjustment, driving modes, and intelligent driving selection.
The front seats are comfortable, with high-quality materials and good support. The seats also have heating and ventilation functions, making driving and riding more relaxed.
Summary: The Beijing full-area city NOA intelligent driving assistance of Zhiji L6 will be upgraded OTA, in addition to Zhiji L6 models, Zhiji LS6 will also be pushed at the same time, Beijing Zhiji car friends just need to wait for the upgrade prompt. How about it? Are you looking forward to and liking this city without NOA maps?
