AITO Wenjie M9: Leading Safety in Electric Vehicles with Dual Test Success

Recently, everyone saw the sales rankings. The AITO Wenjie M9 surpassed 110,000 orders. It remains the number one model with over 500,000 sales. Not long ago, the Wenjie M9 participated in the TOP Safety industry’s first dual safety test for the passenger side. It completed the passenger side pole test and the passenger front 50% offset test. It excelled in this dual safety challenge.

This design stems from the “equal rights” concept in automotive design and safety. It focuses on the C-NCAP side pole and 50% frontal collision tests. The test evaluates the safety of the passenger side of the Wanjie M9. This marks the industry’s first dual safety test on the passenger side, drawing significant attention. The TOP Safety dual safety test simulates collision scenarios during vehicle skids, such as hitting a tree or a utility pole. This side pole impact generates intense forces, challenging the vehicle’s structure. For electric vehicles, the protection of the battery pack beneath the vehicle faces stricter requirements. The Wanjie M9 is positioned at a 75° angle on a test platform. It then collides with a rigid pole at a speed of 32 km/h.

In rescue situations, the Wanjie M9 activates the hazard lights after a collision. The E-CALL emergency feature dials out automatically and responds quickly. The doors unlock, and the handles pop out normally. The non-collision side door opens without issues. In the front 50% offset crash test on the passenger side, the Wanjie M9 collides with another vehicle. Both travel at 50 km/h and involve a 1.4T trolley. After the collision, the structure remains intact. The occupant compartment stays complete, providing ample survival space. The A, B, and C pillars show no structural failure. The top glass roof remains undamaged, without cracks or breaks.

In terms of the restraint system, the seat mounting points and seat frame show no significant deformation. The seat belts deploy on time. The side airbags and side curtains also deploy promptly and fully inflate, ensuring passenger safety. Regarding electrical safety, the high voltage cuts off quickly after a collision. The electrolyte shows no leakage. The battery pack does not catch fire, explode, or emit smoke. For rescue, the hazard lights activate immediately after the collision. The E-CALL function dials out automatically and responds quickly. The doors unlock, and the handles pop out normally. Both side doors open without issues, ensuring timely accident response.

In occupant protection, the 2021 C-NCAP standards apply. The dummies inside the car scored full marks. This shows that the Wanjie M9 provides comprehensive safety protection for occupants. Such excellent performance stems from the Wanjie M9’s strong body structure. Safety considerations guided the development process. Tests covered frontal impact, roof strength, rollover, rear-end collisions, side impacts, and underbody scraping. The design ensures 360° protection for the entire vehicle.

The M9 features a strong chassis. It uses a seven-horizontal and three-vertical structure. The design includes an 11-chamber threshold beam made of ultra-strong materials. The B-pillar consists of one layer of 2000MPA hot-formed steel and three layers of 1500MPA hot-formed steel. Additionally, the front and rear doors have eight 2000MPA crash bars. The roof beam uses three 1500MPA hot-formed steel pieces.
