On July 31, Audi released two production versions of the Audi A6 e-tron: the Sportback and the Avant. The A6 e-tron is the second model based on the PPE luxury electric platform. It combines performance, range, efficiency, and charging advantages of high-end mid-size cars. It is also the first sedan to use the PPE platform.
The sedan measures 4928mm long, 1923mm wide, and 1487mm high. Its wheelbase is 2946mm. The Avant is 40mm taller than the sedan. Overall, its dimensions fall between the current A6 and A6L. A long-wheelbase A6L e-tron will be available in the future.
The design is simple and sporty. The wide, integrated grille and slim daytime running lights make the front appear flatter. The black panel at the bottom blends the headlights, driver assistance sensors, and active air intakes. The classic wide wheel arch design, known as “quattro blisters,” highlights the vehicle’s strength.
The electric folding streaming side mirror looks very high-tech.
The through-type taillights and glowing logo highlight the new energy features and luxury identity.
This is Audi’s most aerodynamic car ever. Engineers completed over 1,300 simulations in the wind tunnel. They achieved a drag coefficient of 0.21 for the Sportback and 0.24 for the Avant.
The new car offers eight colors. Magnetic Gray, Glacier White, Typhoon Gray, and Legend Black are standard. The last three are metallic paints. Two optional colors are Plasma Blue and Marpelo Blue, both metallic. Two additional colors, Cloud Gray Pearl and Siamese Rice Gold, are exclusive to S-line and S models.
The Audi A6 e-tron family offers optional digital LED daytime running lights. It comes standard with second-generation digital OLED taillights. The taillights feature 10 OLED panels. Each panel contains about 45 light-emitting units, totaling 450 units. This setup enables interactive lighting functions.
The matrix LED headlights feature digital daytime running lights and second-generation digital OLED taillights. They offer eight digital light signatures. This provides great personalization.
The interior features a wrap-around design. The dashboard and central control screen use curved OLED displays. The setup includes an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit display and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. Buyers can opt for a 10.9-inch passenger entertainment screen and an AR-HUD.
The panoramic sunroof uses polymer-dispersed liquid crystal technology. It can darken with one touch. The battery features standard 800-volt charging technology and a maximum charging power of 270 kW. It consists of 12 modules with 180 square cells, providing a total capacity of 100 kWh, with 94.9 kWh usable. Both versions of the A6 e-tron exceed 700 kilometers of range. The Audi S6 Sportback e-tron offers over 670 kilometers of range, while the S6 Avant e-tron exceeds 640 kilometers. In terms of power, the Audi A6 e-tron performance version has rear-wheel drive, with a maximum power of 270 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. The Audi S6 e-tron features quattro all-wheel drive, with a system power of 370 kW, reaching 405 kW in launch control mode. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and achieves a top speed of 240 km/h. Both Sportback and Avant versions are available. Audi’s German quality and driving experience are reliable. Adaptive air suspension is available, allowing for four levels of ride height adjustment.
