Wuling officially announced the pre-sale of its new SUV, the Wuling Xingguang S. This vehicle is built on the Tianyu D platform. It offers both plug-in hybrid and pure electric power systems. The pre-sale price starts at 102,800 yuan (14400$). The official launch will occur at the end of August.
Starting today until the launch day, customers can place a deposit of 9.9 yuan (0$) through the Wuling Motors official app. They will receive five exclusive gifts worth up to 20,000 yuan (2800$). This includes a limited-time renewal gift with up to 7,000 yuan (980$) in trade-in subsidies. Customers can also enjoy a value financial gift with up to 5,000 yuan (700$) in installment interest discounts. The Wuling Xingguang S features a design that reflects the Xingguang family’s design genes. It employs Star Wing aesthetics. The front showcases a closed grille and split headlights, both strong in family design style. The details include sharp split daytime running lights shaped like the number seven. The taillights also use a seven-shaped structure, ensuring high recognition. Additionally, the new car offers four dazzling colors: Starry White, Interstellar Blue, Starry Gray, and Starry Gold.
The new car measures 4745mm long, 1890mm wide, and 1680mm high. Its wheelbase is 2800mm. It is a mid-size SUV. The car features a spacious five-seat layout.
The interior features a minimalist design. The dashboard and multimedia screen float above the surface. The steering wheel has a flat-bottom, two-spoke design. For materials, the center console and seats use leather and wood grain accents. The two-tone interior color enhances the homey feel.
In smart configuration, the Wuling Xingguang S features a 15.6-inch central control screen and an 8.8-inch combination instrument. It runs on the Ling OS smart system. Users can activate the voice assistant with “Hello, Xiao Ling.” The vehicle includes apps like iQIYI, QQ Music, and Amap Navigation. It also supports OTA upgrades.
In terms of configuration, the Wuling Xingguang S features standard 18-inch wheels, full LED headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, power-folding side mirrors, and six airbags. Customers can also choose options like ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, and a power tailgate for added comfort. For power, the Wuling Xingguang S offers two versions: pure electric and plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid version includes a 1.5L engine, producing a maximum of 78kW on the highway with a thermal efficiency of 43.2%. It consumes 3.9L of fuel per 100km when the battery is depleted. The CLTC electric range is 60 km and 130 km, with a combined range of over 1100 km when fully fueled and charged. The pure electric version has a single motor with a maximum power of 150kW and uses a lithium iron phosphate battery. Its CLTC electric range reaches 510 km. It supports 2C charging, and the manufacturer claims that 15 minutes of charging can add 200 km of range.
